No one's gonna like this. Yes, I absolutely believe that, I didn't always. Been with the same person since I was 15, 8 years total, married for 5. It's been hard at times, even wondered for a while why we were married. Through it all he has been my best friend, the sex has been great, it has also been horrible, we've been in and out of love, but always still loved eachother.
To me, if you found the person that helps you reach your goals and pushes you to be the person you've always wanted to be, then yes, they are your better half. In that way they are an extension of yourself.

Yes, there is such a thing as a person's 'better half'.
However it is not a literal better half -- rather it is a figurative better half.
A couple, a man and wife, (or boyfriend and girlfriend) together comprise a unit. But each of them is one half of the unit. When one partner, usually the man, refers to his better half he is acknowledging the merits of his partner and at the same time revealing that he considers himself to be incomplete (i.e. only half fulfilled) without his partner.
The saying was commonly used by the older generation but may not have been adopted by the younger generation -- which may be why you are unfamiliar with it.

Yes. the upper half of thebody is much more important than the lower half. It controls your lower half.

are you speaking of within yourself or as a nother person being your better half. cause for the latter it would be that opposite person of you who compliments you. for you having a better half wiithin you. sure. we all have free wills to do right and wrong. so with your part that is corrupt that is your worse and that part of you that says to do right that is your better
