If you live in the U.S. and have applied for citizenship, I believe that you can enter the military. But,before you do, know this! The U.S. military has a history of "sacrafacing" their soldiers in order to gain "political OR stratigic" gains! Do NOT fall into the "PATRIOT" manipulation games that the government has currently going on! Remember the Phoenix Cardinals player that went over to Iraq to defend his country, only to be killed by "Friendly" Fire? Don`t BE an IDIOT! Patriotism is OK! Stupidity is NOT! If you go over there, you will curse this letter because you will KNOW that you have made a mistake, but it will be too late! Stay where you are! Life is short, don`t waste it on politically motivated games! That`s ALL they are. Your DEATH will NOT make a difference!!!! Believe ME! I KNOW!!!!!!!!! If you ARE dead set on joining the Military, join the Air Force! Thats where I was! They are AWAY from the "ACTION" Don`t DIE for "This Crap"

Yes you may be able to join. They'll check you out first like they do all Americans to make sure you're not a criminal or drug addict. I understand that if you want to stay in beyond the first four years that you have to become a citizen, but it will be a lot easier for you to become a citizen if you're in the US Military. Good Luck.

One of the more popular paths to US citizenship is joining the US Army. Interestingly, US law says that joining he military of another country terminates US citizenship. Other countries are not so persnickety.

I'm not positive, but I would say you've got about a 95% chance of receiving enlistment. The U.S./ Military is hiring right now, and I'm sure all parties are considered

Yes, I was Permanent Resident of the US (i.e. Green Card Holder) when I joined up. I eventually gained US citizenship although that was years before they made it easier for servicemen to gain their citizenship.
