This is what I suggest: Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. these two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients. Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. Some people use this as a mask but DON‘T EVER DO THIS! It can change your skin tone and make your face discolored. Aloe vera helps scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing. Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Clearasil, Neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start if you want a cleanser. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard either, because it can irritate your skin. An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc. Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars. If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands are full of bacteria and oils.

The rude shock in the mirror

You wake up in the morning, stumble to the basement and wash your sleepy face. As you wipe it dry with a towel, you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, and let out a loud groan. No, you're not having a bad face day. It's something much worse than that. It's the (shudder!) biggest darned pimple you've ever seen in your life! Ugh! Where did you go wrong?

What causes a Pimple?

A number of things can cause a pimple:

* An improper diet that includes too many soft drinks, spicy and fried food and snacks with high iodine content
* Pores clogged by dirt or pollution
* Stress
* Hormonal changes due to menstruation
* Genes - blame it on the folks

Prevention is better than cure:

Wash Right

Wash your face regularly, not more than 3 times a day, unless you're living in a highly humid and/or polluted city which requires more washing to unclog pores. The best way to wash the face is to first lather your face-wash in your hands, apply it to wet skin and rinse. Pat dry. Scrubbing only aggravates the skin and causes further problems.

Cleansing Routine

Cleanse, tone and moisturise your face twice a day. Don't skip the moisturising step even if you have oily skin - just use an oil-free moisturiser.

Exposure to the elements

Avoid exposing your skin to the harsh elements. If you are going for a long drive, roll up your window slightly, so your face doesn't get plummeted by the wind, especially in polluted towns.

Water

Drink plenty of water to detox your system. Impure blood and poor circulation is one of the primary causes of acne.

Eat Right

Unless you are allergic to certain foods, eating junk food doesn't lead to the formation of pimples. But overeating certain foods, especially heating foods like chocolates and mangoes, can lead to an overnight zit congregation.

Get rid of that zit - ice ice baby!

No! Don't burst it! That's the worst thing you can do! It may solve your problem temporarily so you won't go to that dinner with a large white bud blossoming on your mug, but the scar will remain for a long, long time. Instead, try wrapping an ice cube in a thin muslin cloth and place it for about three minutes on a pimple that is just forming. It kills the growth of the pimple. Believe it, it is true.

If a pimple does burst accidentally (or intentionally!), wash the area with soap. Then reach for a lemon slice and squeeze ten drops into a cotton ball. Keep it on the burst pimple for about 10 minutes. The scar will vanish.

Lime n' Lemony

Lemon maintains the pH balance of skin, and it is a good idea to give your face a rinse of lemon water once a day. Just squeeze half a lemon into half a mug of water and splash it on your face. Rinse off the residue with regular water.

DON'T SQUEEZE IT. Keep the spot clean and detox by eating your five-a-day fruit and veg and drinking plenty of water.
Try a 3-in-1 medicated wash before carrying out your make-up routine. and dont use too mch make-up.
wash your face with an oil control face wash .. and wash your face frequently to keep the extra oil out.. at the same time dont wash sooo much that your dry your skin out!! if you have a couple of nasty zits.. try toothpase.. it might sound stupid.. but..apply some toothpaste on your zit bfore you sleep and when you wake up in the morning it will look much better.. toothpaste reduces redness of the pimple and dries it out! You can also dab Tea Tree Oil on the spots..! You can also try pimple zapping products available in the market.. try.. clean & clear ( thay have some good oil control skin caare products)..Clearasil is good too.. and Do try Proactive IT WORKS!!! If this stuff doesnt help you try going to a skin specialist! All the Best!

First, please make sure that you are washing your face twice a day with a mild cleanser. If you use harsh products, it might actually make your face worse, but you do want your face to be clean.

Second, make sure that things touching your face are clean as well. I find it's best to change the sheets on my bed and my towel at least once a week, for example. If you have a coat or something that you wear next to your face all the time, wash it.

Third, make sure that any products you put on your face are "noncomedogenic". This means that it does not cause acne.

Fourth, wash your hair regularly, and with a good shampoo. I switched shampoos recently, and I found that the new one caused a lot of acne on my forehead and hairline, so I went back to the previous shampoo.

There are a number of over-the-counter acne treatments that you can try, if you want to.

If you are doing all these things, and you are still having a lot of acne problems, see a dermatologist. He/she can give you good advice and possibly even medicine to help with your problem.

Tips to control pimples

a) Make a paste of nutmeg (jaifal, jadikai) and raw milk. Apply on the pimples after washing the face. Let it dry. You could apply it overnight and wash it off the next morning.

b) If pimples start bleeding and burning, apply paste of soaked and ground fenugreek seeds on them. It will be soothing and will also prevent infections.

c) A paste of sandal, nutmeg and pepper controls pimples and also prickly heat.

d) Herbs like spearmint (pudina), margosa (neem, vepayelai), tulsi have been traditionally used for curing many skin ailments. The juices of any of these leaves can be applied to the skin. It should be kept on till it dries and then washed off. Both spearmint and margosa help in controlling and curing pimples.

Seek out a professional aesthetician and get on a good home care program before taking any Rx. Depending on your age, it may be a little harder to control. Things like Proactive only work for about 6 months, after that your skin will regress and get worse. An excellent line is Rhonda Allison !

Many you say, first i know what you have gone through and it sucks but firstly go to your GP and get a referal for a dermatologist.

DEMAND ROACUTANE, this fixes everything but you look like crap for 9months because all the moisture is taken out of the skin.

Its not expensive, PBS will cover it so its cheap and VERY EFFECTIVE, ive talked to a dozen other people who took it, not one complaint all gone no recuring treatment
