Sounds like she's in heat. Yes, she's old enough to get fixed but if you take her in during her "in heat" cycle, it will cost more for the treatment.
Different places charge different prices. Shop around your area at different vets and ask for the prices.

The answer to your first question is that when confronting rivals before or during a fight, all felines exercise some combination of growls, high-pitched threats, spits and hisses to tell opponents exactly what they think.

The answer to your second question is to check with your local vet to see if she is old enough to get fixed and what the prices are to get your cat fixed. If you do not agree with the prices your local vet has quoted you, then check with the spca. They may be able to help you if your local vet can't.

I also listed a couple of websites to help you out as well. Good luck!

When she rolls and growls, she is playing.

She is old enough to get spayed.

The SPCA is usually cheaper than a private vet, but call around for prices. Don't forget shots, too.

Purrrrrs

i think she's just establishing her territory, kinda like telling people to back off cause that is her spot. um...i would wait until like, 10 months to get fixed.

a private vet would probably be much better in quality but more expensive
BUT
a spca might not have as good of quality as private pet but it is a lot cheaper

Sounds like she's playing. My vets wont spay a cat til she's 6 months old.

I think she is young to get fixed. But do it before it is their mating season. I'd say do it in a couple of months.
