Been there...done that...sit on the front row at that concert...and even bought the T-shirt!! My sympothies!! I guess that's a subjective phrase..." I love you but I'm not in love with you." The best I could decipher...that means that the person who told you that tells everyone that...wants to keep everyone onboard...so that there's always someone 'waiting in the wings' (you've heard the expression...." a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.') And did you notice...how the person who told you that looked at you as if that was enough to make you feel special? It's a commonly used line...a means to an end. It's their way of patting themselves on the back.....are they great--they love all mankind. It's also a way to make sure you don't distinguish yourself from any other person they've had a relationship with........ In my subjective view.....it was something to say to a person that they were only 'killing time' with....something to ensure their needs were met until the 'right one' came along. Kudos to you for being astute enought to bid farewell. Stay strong.

There is infatuation ("puppy" love) and there is LOVE. One is to hold and admire the person and the other is to want to spend the rest of your life with that person. My girl friend just grew up (matured) in the head and discovered that she wanted to move on after 3 and a half years together. Like most people in a relationship like mine was, I was not expecting this - but I should of known. She was not herself at times, she was detached and was not as critical of me as usual. The signs were there and I was too focused on myself to notice until she dropped the "bomb" on me. That's life though!!!

The wounds are still fresh. Just moved in with him in August, signed a year lease. I was coming home and just about to put my key in the door when I heard him on the telephone telling his mom I was a *****. I thought we were in love. Now we have to live together til August! I don't want him to have a nice life, I want him to suffer!!!!

My ex girlfriend, besides my fiancee, was the only other girl I told I loved her.
I knew she was in love with me too.
We dated for years, but then it just started changing, and her tone when she talked to me sounded less happy, and the look in her eyes pretty much gave away that she wasn't in love with me anymore.

That is a cop out when a person has met someone who excites them like you did at first tell him to hit the road now.

Love is a commandment. You don't choose it. The future mate doesn't choose it. It just happens, and you both accept it, mutually.
Anything else is just two people wandering off alone together in their own delusions.
