I'm prior Marine Corps and have been out for a little over year and a half. I've already decided that I'm going back in, but not to the Corps. Loved it, but they don't have the job I want. I want to work as a veternarian, nurse, photographer, or writer. Can anyone tell me what either branches are like? I'm not afraid of most challenges and love to p.t. Before anyone says anything, yes, I already realize there's a chance that I'd get deployed overseas so keep the negative comments to yourself. I appreciate any and all help.

In my opion the easier trans for you would be to the Navy. Seein as you have most likely worked with them already. Yes you know that you may get deployed overseas but at least you will know much of what to expect with the Navy. The main thing I lkiked about the Navy more then the Army is that the deployments are shorter in duration and so the "I need a dose of home" comes a little more often.
God Bless you in either choice you make.

P.S.
I love the beautiful shots that the photographers get on the flight deck of the ship. Oh a good friend was a photographer for the NIMITZ and he loved it. Great equipment and you get to see a bit of it all.

I was a photographer for the Navy (PH... now it's MC). I loved it, most of the time, and I got to visit all over the world from Japan to Australia to Hawaii...even Singapore. It was a fun yet challenging job. I knew photographers for the Army as well and I dunno... I'd rather go out to sea and visit new ports rather than sit out in a field every few weeks... Plus the Navy is a bit more lax in some areas, not as strict but it depends what command you are with... Good luck!

On another note...
Don't listen to the little stereotypical crap people say that there are gays in the Navy. You're probably a mature person anyway and know better than to listen to that childish stuff. Funny people think they know everything and they don't! There are gays in all parts of the armed forces, just the Navy gets pinned as the bad one for some reason.

The Marines Corps falls under the Department of the Navy, so you might feel more at home there. The Army doesn't really do boats, aside from the occasional Zodiac rubber raft and PT transport.

each has it quite is united statesand downs. do you opt to proceed to exist a deliver or boat for a cruise? (however the up ingredient to that's seeing distinctive ports in distinctive countries) Or do you opt to be stationed at a positioned up, yet bypass to the sector each so in lots of cases for guidance? Which branch does greater to your profession determination? Being military i like it. I had stable guidance, advantages are the comparable no count what branch you connect. military does greater PT then the army interior the sense that we run 2 miles for our attempt and that they run a million a million/2 miles. way of existence, that's a not common one. There are some military bases that are super, comparable because of the fact the army, and there are some which you think of, "Who did I piss off to get stationed here?" the militia commonly is taking super strides to advance high quality of existence for the provider contributors. whilst becoming to be a member of a branch, ask your self, what do i opt for to do known for the subsequent 10-two decades and which branch will make that ensue. that's the only you're able to desire to connect.

As a former Marine myself I tried the Army. They offered more opportunites, but I couldn't handle the way the Army runs. It just didn't make sense to work that way. When a job needs done just get it done. You know what I mean.

I would say the Army. You could become a squid, but why? Talk to recruters and you'll find out the Army can get you more than the Navy.
P.S. The Army dosen't have the Village People singing about them either.
