Believe in God or a God? There are a lot of Philantropists that aren't christian such as, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Robert Owen, and Galileo. They have all contributed to our worlds betterment, and these are just a few examples.

I ask this because I've had numerous conversations with christians who insist that a "non-believer" can't be, and isn't a true Philantropist. Of which I am always puzzeled by.

I base my "majority" on the people I have met and talked with, so maybe that's an unfair statement.
Bill Gates isn't a Catholic his wife Nancy is.

The majority of Christians think nonChristians are all foolishly selfish immoral jerks. They are brainwashed to think that by the silly book they worship.

I never heard that. I have also had conversations with Bill Gates personally...better rethink whether or not he is a Christian...he has his faith....

I have never heard that philanthropy required Christianity or any other religion. Who told you it did?
