Your faith should be in whatever it is you believe in, not any human. So no, it shouldn't shake your faith at all. That's why I don't believe in putting your trust in organized religion.

This is what happens when you put a man as a rep for God. Man is born with the ability to do good and evil, it is in us all. But there are many who see the power of religion and easy it is to manipulate ppl into doing things under the pretense of religion. So a priest/ pastor is just a man, he is not holy he is not special, it is a job you do and like any person on this planet they **** up just as much as the next person. The problem is they say they speak for god (which is crazy). In the end you should put your faith in higher things and not focus on man.

I would think It was just another Theist who believes he/she will be saved for sinning so long as he/she repents.

The fact is, we are responsible for our own actions, theist or atheist. We only get 1 shot at this Earth, molesting the same sex is not the way to carry on the Human population.

That dumb priest needs to pick up a science book.

im not catholic.............
the priest i made my first confession to was later convicted
but i react to that the same as that doctor or teacher or school bus driver

there are a lot of people that do bad things--that doesnt neccessarily directly relate to their faith\

if an athiest is a child molester...do you think atheists would stop being athiests??? no

priests are no different from the rest of the molestors--they committed a henous crime they should be prosecuted but the whole religion is not represented by one person

there is a distinction that need to be made between man and his religion

man is not perfect but god is

It would never affect my faith nor belief in God, but it would seriously change how I view the pastor/priest. And..... I would make sure everyone was told about him, no hiding.

My faith is in God, not in the human agents of God or his church. If anyone puts their faith in another human being, the only sure thing is to be disappointed since we are all weak and sinful.
And in answer to not trusting "organized religion." Read the Bible. Jesus was a faithful member of the "organized" religion and he started a church, "You are Peter and this rock I will build my church," he said.

It would not affect my faith or beliefs.. But it will show me that this priest is a wolf in sheep's clothing and I would do whatever I could to have him/her brought to justice.

I would act on impulse instead of rational thinking and do what Jesus did when He lost his cool about the vendors selling in front of his fathers house.
But it would not affect my beliefs for long . as they are mine and as long as I follow my own beliefes the best I can.Would need a time out.

My first reaction would be to pray for that person who was victimized. My second prayer would be for the perp. Then I would notify the authorities.
