Its simple really. People spend more time worshiping the Bible and its teachings.....a man made book......then actually Worshiping god and his teachings of love

Don't blame the people on the faith. Religion (not just christianity) has been used to control people for centuries, if theres a little uprising, have the religious figurehead ask the people to "eliminate the threat in the name of God", so dont base anything off of that kind of stuff (holy wars, etc)
As far as uncompassionate christians go, those are just the shouting ones who hate everything and want to judge everyone because they think they are like God. Truth is, most christians are like me, blend into the background, i see no purpose in judging anyone or shoving religion down their throats, fact is, christianity is in the top three biggest religions on the planet, so the basic point there is, people ALREADY know what christianity is, its just the few extremists who shout it out in a horrible manner making the religion look bad

How I understand your feelings. But it is the very same type of people that perpetrate violence that wrote up the Old Testament. The bible is not the word of God, or Christ, but the word of those in power, since 325 years after Christ. The bible was subsequently edited another 1000 times in order to keep it inobjectionable to those in power, right into the present times.
If more people studied "Rational Spirituality", available on the Dhaxem website, the world would faster become a different place, because everyone would learn that whatever they do to others, they do to themselves. Rational Spirituality is an entirely logical account of the laws of the Universe and of the Divine laws, which makes perfect sense. It even answers your question in a way that would show you that all that happens makes sense, after all! Although at times it seems hardly possible if you just look around yourself... I agree.

The people of today only believe in 'praying words' and not 'acting works'. I know christians who are so busy saying out the rosary aloud and forcing others to do the same, that they forget to be compassionate and non-judgemental. Its a shame that humanity has come to accept dogmas so vehemently and in the process is forgetting the true nature of God, which is all loving...praying or no praying. No body wants to learn 'love' and 'tolerance' from Christ today, they'd rather take the easy way out - 'praying words'.
The most pathetic part is that they still believe they are God's favorite and the rest of us are the devil incarnate.....funny....I feel sympathy for them and hope God gives them some common sense.

First off, I'm really sorry that the Christians that you have met have turned you off so much. In my experience the vast majority of Christians are not that way, but the ones that are that way are the most easily noticed.
I guess that the best answer I can come up with in regards to your question is that God shows his benevolence in that He allows us to live our lives as we chose while we are here. If He wanted to He could eliminate sin and force us to follow His will whether we wanted to or not. Instead He gave us a way to enter into fellowship with Him by sending Jesus to die for us. Now it is up to us to decide if we want to follow Him or not.
One thing that I have discovered is that if I look to Christians as examples of how I should live I will always be dissapointed. As sinful human beings we are in just as much of a need for a savior as anyone else. Christians will always let you down. While Christians are instructed to hold each other accountable in our actions, far more is written in how we are to live our own personal lives. The sins of society are condemned, but you won't find a call for revolution or for using the legal system to legislate morality anywhere in the New Testament. Far to often Christians are willing to attempt to pull specks out of other people's eyes instead of confronting the plank in their own eyes.
I hope that this helps. I really hope that you can reconcile your beliefs not with Christians, but with the Christ depicted in the gospels that we as Christians are called to follow.

Don't confuse church-goers with spiritual people. Both can called Christians (or any name for other religious groups), but only one is truly religious. The bottom line is that people do feel insecure and often need to blame others for their problems. And a "mob" (a group of people riled up over an emotional topic) can be very violent when they lose control. Put these ingredients together and you get a mob of insecure people who use religion as their excuse for violent actions. In other words, they are just people.

God does not require bloodshed. It is mans arrogance that has paved the way for the destruction you see in the world today. Consider this, God has given us all we need to live, and every opportunity to live peacefully. God has given us a world that protects us, with an atmosphere, from the mega extreme conditions of space. Yet, at the same same time allowing the beneficial elements of space to bind with us. We have to ability to understand, and with that ability comes wisdom. Don't give up. Wake up..your so much more.... gmatt111@yahoo.com

It has nothing to do with God and everything to do with human nature. Yeah, there are bloodthirsty Christians but there are also bloodthirsty Muslims and Jews too. It's all about the idea of thinking you're right so you should destroy everyone who doesn't agree with you rather than take the time to listen to and think about their side. God does not condone this, and even though these Christians read the Bible they still ignore a lot of its true message.

Jesus did not agree with the religious leaders of his time either. It is said that the door is open to all who knock in earnest but only a few will enter....those churches that say they have the spirit in them because of their numbers may be deceiving themselves....a lot is put in by individuals in the name of God and that hurts the true Christian

God requires that blood be shed for the remission of sins. But He is so benevolent that He provided the blood of His olny begotten Son for YOUR sins, in spite of your contempt for Him.
