I’m a canine lover and owner therefore; I’m not sure why this behavior occurs.

Never said I wasn't a cat lover, but I have never owned one. Some people always read more into a question, than what is simply being asked..

When cats knead they actually think they are kittens again wanting milk. With older cats it is also a sign of affection. So despite your love for canines, the cat loves you and you should feel flattered. You could of course lay on your belly and make your chest inaccessible. In nature the female felines lay on their backs to invite the little ones for milk and when they are fed up with feeding them they get down on their bellies.

Funny how you're not a cat lover and your picture is of a girl with cat features...
Besides that, it's a sign of affection the kitty is giving you. Most of the time, adult cats knead because they were taken away from their mother too young. They knead their mother while they nurse, and for some strange cat reason, they continue to do it. Try putting a blanket over you to keep the claws from digging in you. Other than that, just love the poor babe!!

The Kitty likes you. Your smell, or your voice. I'm surprised the scent of canine doesn't scare the cat away.

Maybe that's it, does kitty like dogs? My sister always has two dogs and two or more cats. Most of them have learned to play and I have even seen them curl up and take a nap together. The one cat moped around for weeks when one of her dogs died, it actually missed that dogt as much as my sister did. Kinda cute don't you think?

Even if you don't like the cat try to think of it as a compliment that the cat would be that friendly to you. One of my sisters cats took a whole year before it would come close to me. The other ones were constantly crawling on me but not that one.

I hope the guy had about 3 layers of bull hide for a vest, plus something to clean up the front of himself with. I'll bet that cat won't need the litter box for a week

Yeah, when a cat does that, it likes you. When I try to sleep, my cat (when she's in the room) will jump up on the bed, lay on the pillow next to my head, and knead on my face... always the face, I don't know why.

You must have a bountiful chest. I'm not perverted, it's just what I've noticed. My moms cat wants to knead me also, but I get creeped out when cat's are on me....
It's a natural behaviour.

most of the time the cat really likes you. But the second reason could be that the cat can sense that you do not like it so he is trying to make you like him by showing affection. Most cats can tell if you are not a cat person.

Little kittens are kneading on the breasts of the momma cat ...so when they get older they do it when they feel good and when they are happy. Cats do that when they trully like someone, when they feel comfortable and content......

you might be sitting or laying in his territory. but have you tried to be firm and say no and put him on the floor -- he'll eventually catch on. kneading is like his settlling down to lay in a good spot.
