One year of study in any language barely begins to "scratch the surface," as we say, for even an introduction to it. You will need to continue for several years, and immerse yourself for long periods of time among people who will speak to you exclusively in English.

Watching movies and television programs in English are two ways to have fun with the language and give yourself incentives to enjoy your new language acquisition, while greatly increasing your language skills and vocabulary. Listening to language CDs (I like Pimsleur best, at the moment) in the car or while getting ready for school/work is helpful and easy. Also, keep participating in Yahoo Answers!

¡Valor bueno; sigue así!

I'm a woman who was born in the good old USA, and I've been studying English all my life! That's the fascinating thing about American English--it's constantly evolving (though some rules of grammar stay constant even if some people refuse to follow them!).

The sentences you put in your question were well formed, except for the last one. You could have said, "Do I still need to learn a lot of things?". Of course it's impossible to judge how much you need to know from your few sentences, but you're obviously well on your way! It looks as if soon no one will be able to tell by your writing that you weren't born in the United States.

Do not put 'since' in front of 1 year ago. Yes, you do need to learn many things. Instead of 'I would like to know if I have learned already enough', you could say ' I would like to know if I have sufficient knowledge on English'.

Do some more reading. The best novel is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and Sylvie and Bruno by Lewis Caroll. If yoiu do not know any words, look up the dictionary.

I am a foreign person too, and this is the way I improve my english.

WOW! You're dong great. I'd work some more at it... listen to TV and radio, and READ, especially newspapers. Listen to others (but don'tmake it obvious) It will all help you with the sentence structure and more.

Keep working at it. English as a second language is hard, and is something you can always get a little better at.

*Mexican is capitalized.
*English is capitalized.
*It's "I would like to know if I have learned enough to support myself."
*It's "Do you think I still need to learn more?"

Ok...I think you should hit the books! You're doing all right, but your basic knowledge of grammar is deficient. Also, you would do well to study GRE vocabulary words; those are great for today's society.
