I´m 5,8, male, 200 pounds. I just started lifting weights three weeks ago and it feels great and like I am getting in shape. I am thinking of starting cardio. I lift 4 times a week. Should I concentrate on lifting first and gaining muscle and then loose fat or loose the fat first and then gaining muscle? Or both objectives at the same time? What would be more efficient?

Concentrate on building muscle first (you still need aerobics as a component of fitness development). The weight will melt off in the process and the fat calories can contribute to your building. Then "cut" later when you have reached your goals for muscle growth.

If you want some detailed suggestions you are welcome to look at my 360 Blog of September 10.

Well, it depends on what your fitness goals are. I would do some type of cardio (bike, treadmill, run) along with your weightlifting 2-3 times a week regardless. You must do a combination of weightlifting and cardio to achieve results. They work hand in hand. Just cardio alone you will lose weight, but not really gain muscle. Just weightlifting you will gain muscle, but without proper diet and cardio, you will still have fat around the muscles, therefore not acheiving optimal results

I would keep doing your weight training program but change some things i would do a cardio workout on your off days . running or jumping rope but a good cardio workout is always good for a healthy body, on your weight lifting i would do higher reps( like 12-15) with lighter weight.that makes your muscles tone and longer.if you combine a high rep workout with cardio on opposite days it is better for your muscles because they need time to rebuild also.once you get to a body weight you are comfortable with then you could start with your bulk traing and adding bulked muscle by doing less reps with a higher weight and changing your diet again. by the time you want to gain muscle and thats it, you will be more comfortable with yourself and find out your own ways to be more effective.i would also reccomend to purchase a muscle and fitness magazine they have great articles on every page.

I think you should do both....You acn do 30 mins to one hour of cardio and then do the weight lifting....This way you'll be burning fat and gaining muscle at the same time.

Cardio AND weight training are both critical to weight loss. And as you may know, muscle burns fat as well.

I would do both. I can't think of any advantages to doing one or the ohter first, but be sure to give yourself a break a day or two so your muscles can repair themselves.
