I personally believe religions are based on two things morality and superstition. The superstition part causes the problems while the morality part solves problems. I don't think the point of religion should be to impose myths, stories and practices onto people, but to teach people about respecting each other and living a good life. Personally, I do not believe there is any true religion, the only true religion would be one based on morality and no superstitions. Almost every religion has rituals, myths, stories etc associated with it. As politically incorrect as this might be, some religions can be considered better than others, depending on what they promote, more morality or more superstition.

Well thats quite a question and I appreciate your genuine inquisitiveness, so here's what I think.
All religions are organizations and like any other group there is going to be good and bad, I think it is unfortunate that people tend to look for the bad and then dismiss religion across the board on what they find, because in any group of people there is going to be problems. Clearly a great deal of good has been done by each and pretty much every religion has done a great deal of good and outside of the various religions what other organization had done good like them.
I am not a member of a religion but I listen to what they have to say because I do believe in God and I do have faith, and I do believe that most religions have some sense of spiritual truth.
I cannot say that there is a religion that is wholy true, and I do recognize that some are in fact dangerous, but the idea of a world without religion scares me because it would be a world without spirituality which is the seed that begins a religion.
I have written a fair amount about this on my blog on my 360 page if your interested.

Whatever the true value of religion is, it certainly isn't any more pointless than most of the stuff that people tend to occupy themselves with. Really, what's more worthwhile than considering the ultimate truth/reason for existence, whether God exists or not, and if he does what he wants from us? Obviously all religions cannot be true, but at least someone who's involved in a false religion is spending some of their time thinking about important things and not just about the mainly meaningless stuff that people tend to think about (i.e. what TV show is good, I need more money to buy more junk, that sports car sure looks nice etc.)

You know you have the most effective believe when you feel joy in your soul, peace in your heart and a spring in your step. There are people who know the doctrine in the bible but doesn't know the Life. Our spirit is the inner most part of our being then you have the soul and then body. The body is easy to explain, it's what you see, the soul is where our personality is and feelings , the spirit is the key. Picture our spirit like a piece of puzzle shaped as a glove. A lot of people will tell you that they feel this emptiness inside of them like their missing something. They try to fill this void (spirit) with earthly pleasures like success, money, fame, which may give them a short lived happiness but the void is still there,,,,, you see only Christ can fill that void He is the missing piece!! He is shaped like a hand to fit the glove and give us completion. Of course these are all an analogy to demonstrate my point. But the bottom line is Christ wants to make His home in our spirits to become our Life and be expressed through us. I know this may be a little deep but as we mature in Christ he eventually becomes part of our soul and is expressed through us. You will know a True believer by the riches (in the Words and actions) they possess

Q 1: Religion causes trouble sometimes.... but
always solve matters
Q 2: Some religion tells about false beliefs
Q 3: Our religion is really really true, the roman catholic church, The Roman Catholic Church or Catholic Church (see Terminology, below) is the Christian Church in full communion with the Bishop of Rome, currently Pope Benedict XVI. It traces its origins to the original Christian community founded by Jesus, with its traditions first established by the Twelve Apostles and maintained through unbroken Apostolic Succession.
The Catholic Church is not only the largest Christian Church, but also the largest organized body of any world religion.
Catholics are obliged to endeavour to be true disciples of Jesus. They seek forgiveness of their sins and follow the example and teaching of Jesus. They believe that Jesus has provided seven sacraments which give Grace from God to the believer.
A Catholic is baptized in the name (singular) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit — not three gods, but one God subsisting in three Persons. While sharing in the one divine essence, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct, not simply three "masks" or manifestations of one Person. The faith of the Church and of the individual Christian is based on a relationship with these three Persons of the one God.

hi,
to start off religion is different for everyone. it's a very sensitive topic. religion in my opinion is nothing but assurance. human beings need boundaries that's why they form beliefs and it's wrong . religion in general is not wrong or right .. but it's good cuz some ppl who don't noe how to make descisions or who don't noe there purpose in life i mean everyone has there theory about why they r put on this earth n some ppl want to fallow the most beleivable thing but u can't blame them... i mean we all need some assurence or safety zone religion in my opinion is one of those sources

Yes, what a question. Religion is...well, a santa claus for frightened adults. You can look at the simpleness of telling a white lie, and magnify it to a certain degree, and there you go. Religion. All of it is just stories. Told to keep a people happy, or to supply hope. It is a useful tool at times, and a rusty dagger, pointed at the heart of a targeted nation, ready to strike at any moment. I don't believe any of it. Look at heinous acts commited centuries ago. What makes you think they couldn't tell a story to keep people quiet if they could murder a person for wanting to bring peace to a country, or mutilating another for a personal political vendetta? And you parents read, don't bother to spend taking your kids to church, or the mosque, or the synagouge. It's a waste of time. You could teach them to speak a foreign language, or to play a piano, or enroll them in art classes or fat camp!

My opinion on religion, is that it's just ancient mythology that men of power realized they could use to manipulate the masses.
More than anything else, religion maintains the facade of legitimacy of authority that states need to maintain power. If the masses ever figure out that authority is nothing but the popular exercise of violence, they might quit obeying their masters.

this is my view: i dont tihnk that there is anything wrong with religion but man. you see religion is there to guide and discipline you but where we get different religion is how that person interpretated it. for example in Islam the word Jihad means eternal war is in war within yourself between good and bad but this king wanted to convert some indians and he used that word as a tactic to get his soldiers to kill anyone who didnt convert. the Crusade with the Catholic church, i think it's them not sure, was another tactic...but the religion itself in both cases talks about love and discipline, and how to live a wonderful life...it is us man who messes it up. there isnt a religion who says go kill, no but there are PEOPLE who say it and do it because1- the misinterpretated or took what was said literally, 2- they are using it as a tactic to gain somehting...

REligion does not cause problems, people do. There is only one church which Jesus created just prior to his death. There is no contradiction in the bible even though it was written over hundreds of years. Jesus's birth, life and death were predicted in the bible long before it happened. Religion is not holy, Jesus and God are. You don't have to take my word for it, it is written in the bible. The bible is God's instruction manual for living, everyone is given the choice.
