Not only do they believe in plural marriages but look at what else they believe in.
*They believe that God the Father has many wives.
**They believe God the Father is now on a planet near the star Kolob, with his wives having spiritual children.
***They believe that Satan and Jesus are spirit brothers.
****They believe that the spirit children who didn't fight valiantly during the battle in heaven... are the babies born with black skin.
*****They believe if they are obedient to the laws and ordinances of the gospel they will become gods with a planet of their own.

I lived in Utah for four years and I would said yes they do. They don't all practice it but they believe in it. They still have some that live in the Utah mountains where they can't be found and still practice it. The strange thing about Utah is that when I came back home, to the east, I found that everything by passes Utah. There were songs on the radio that I hadn't heard and I was like WOW cool song and my sister and sister-in-law were like that's been out for 6 months. Well OK. But I haven't heard it.

Some do and some don't. That's why there are 2 branches of Mormons now....The LDS and the Reformed LDS.
However, they do believe that god lives on a planet near the star Kalob! They wear special underwear! They believe that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers! They can now drink caffeine in the form of Pepsi (since the Mormon church owns it).

Nope. Polygamy is prohibited, and in the journey that they did have more advantageous than one residing spouse, that they had be excommunicated. we are no longer flipping out. we are in basic terms declaring how thoroughly and obviously incorrect that is. And definite, this is nevertheless part of our scripture--so is the section in the Bible the position we are informed to sacrifice animals. Do you nevertheless do this? did not imagine so. Polygamy replaced into formally discontinued a lengthy time period in the past--and the revelation discontinuing it is likewise in the Doctrine and Covenants. a week a guy is sealed to a 2d or third spouse? the position, precisely, are you getting that? however if it replaced into authentic, the in difficulty-free words human beings being sealed are those who are not already married to others. i'm no longer particular why you would say this is insignificant that countless the adult males supposedly being wed are also widowers. maximum Christian faiths believe that if a guy loses his spouse and marries back, he received't be separated from the first spouse in the subsequent life. God isn't that cruel, notwithstanding this is no longer solid sense to ignore issues that do not help your argument. It in basic terms makes you seem stupid, expensive. No, back, this is no longer authentic. What data do you've of apostles training bigamy? once you're going to troll, please a minimum of attempt to apply common sense.

The legitimate Mormon church rejected polygamy a long time ago when it became taboo amoung the general public. But the nut job fundamentalist branch believes God wants them to enslave 5 women to one man so they can have a baby farm of 50 kids or more. I hear the legitimate Mormons are kind of pissed off at these baby farmers for giving them a bad name...

Yes...only stopped so they could get statehood for Utah. Don't worry though, they think polygamy continues in heaven. Men can be sealed to many wives in heaven. They believe they procreate with each other up there too. That is of course if it's o.k. with Joseph Smith as he has first dibs on everyone elses wife up there. SICK! Tell me that isn't a man -made religion. When will the women in that cult wake up!!!!!!

They believe they will "enjoy" plural marraige in the celestial kingdom. They are, of course, wrong, since Jesus clearly stated that there would be no marriage in Heaven.

This is a difficult question.
I think I have to give you some background first.
First of all, you should realize that many people misunderstand who the term "Mormon" is referring to. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There are many breakoff groups from my church, and some people just don't know enough about us to realize that there are a number of different groups with very similar names to ours. You might have heard of Warren Jeffs, for example, who was recently arrested for polygamy. He is not a member of my church, but rather a breakoff. When you hear about polygamists, these are the types of groups they belong to, not my church, a worldwide organization of about 12 million members in many countries.
Secondly, I want to give you a little background about how we see marriage. There are basically two kinds of marriage. Marriages that are performed by the government and many churches, for example, are "until death do us part"; that is, those marriages are binding only until death. However, after we die, our spirit will continue to live, and I personally think it would be very sad for our families to be split up by death. The Lord Jesus Christ has made it possible for our families to be together forever. This is possible because marriage ceremonies that are performed in the temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are binding eternally. That is, as long as the people involved remain faithful, they will have the opportunity to enjoy their loving family relationships forever because of the binding power of the ceremony that they performed. We call this ceremony "sealing". So when latter-day saints get married, they can get married, for example by a judge, but then later they can be sealed in the temple, which will mean that their marriage will be binding for eternity. It's a great blessing for anyone who is willing to receive it.
Third, a little history: yes, it's true that members of my church used to practice plural marriage. That practice was officially abolished in the church in the year 1890 when the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wilford Woodruff, issued a proclamation known as the "Manifesto". We consider this to be a prophecy and scripture, and the church has not practiced plural marriage since that time. Any member of the church who does not live according to this proclamation is in danger of excommunication from the Church.
Now, to answer your question: as I mentioned before, since there are two kinds of marriage, regular marriage and sealing, it is possible for a man to be sealed to more than one woman at a time, but never married to more than one woman. For example, if a man is sealed to his wife, and she dies, he can be sealed to another woman. We believe that the first sealing is still in force because that is binding for eternity, so he is sealed to two women, but he is not married to and living with more than one woman at a time. In this type of situation, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints allows a man to be sealed to more than one woman. But the Church never allows a man to be married to and living with more than one woman at a time.
