I recently seen my neighbor hacking up a baby rabbit with an axe. I know he comes from a messed up family and has a lot of issues, but I think his issues are a little more serious than most. Is it just me or does this kid have SERIAL KILLER written all over him. Whats more is he always follows me around and comes over to talk to me when I'm outside. I know he has a crush on me. Should I have any reason to worry about this kid

Yeah you should be worried after seeing him killed a rabbit, you're thinking that you might be next, or feared to be.
He sound so creepy and messed up inside. eww
since you know he has a crush on me, maybe you could help him? ask him why he killed those small animals? or engaged him into some neutral activities ( if u have the courage ) and make him like other things beside killing animals.

Dont get the police involved yet as if he found out its you who called the police, you might in danger. No trying to scare you, but this kid is pretty messed up.

Help the kid if you can, be there to listen to him when he speaks to you. He does need a decent friend to be there.

I am a crazy court TV and American Justice fan. Not that those shows have all the answers, however, a common theme with all of the serial killers portrayed is "yes," killing small animals is definitely a qualifying trait of a serial killer.

Yes. Your concern is normal. He might turn out OK, but I think he needs more caring than you can provide him at his age. If he was younger, you'd have a better chance of turning him around. At this point, self-protection for you, your family, and your neighbors is in order.

Perhaps call CPS -- not to report, (they have limits), but to see what is available in your area in terms of teen centers, basketball leagues, any thing you could suggest or encourage him to do--something constructive that will work off his hostilities. The fact that he follows you around might mean you can influence him. His parents probably won't care -- (Can you say METH?), but you've got to implant in his mind that there are better ways to succeed. If that fails, get active in a neighborhood watch cuz you'll need it. And keep up your own personal defenses.

Good luck.

Yes, I would be very worried. He needs help! Next time you see him do something like that, call the police. They can keep records of the events and make the parents accountable to get him the help he needs. Make sure you lock your doors and do not trust him. He has angry and violent behaviors issues. You may not know what is going to set him off.

Be Worried? Yes. Serial killer? Yes. Psycho? Yes. Be Scared? You should be!

I don't know if there is much you can do, maybe take some video footage of his brutality and have him charged with animal cruelty, at least authorities will know of his past behaviour if he progresses to people

Yes, unfortunately, hacking up any animal for unknown reasons is serious. He needs help... But not from you.

Protect yourself, think smart, and surround yourself with trustworthy people...do not allow him to be alone with you...he is unpredictable and insecure right now...Serial killer is taking it too far....troubled...yes, he is. Trust your instincts...

killing a baby rabbit is one matter ...
i dont think he's a serial killer anyway. perhaps its his way of self-expression bcoz of all the messed up family etc
and no one would want to do anything to the person whom he/she likes ... so u have probably nothing to worry about

Definitely, killing animals is one of the three pre-cursors to becoming a serial killer.

Kristina, 2 options:

stay where you are and try to show the boy some care (perhaps he is attracted to you because you never physically hurt him) or

move, change your address, work in a different location.

The neighbor is already acting out his inner turmoil. Please be careful.
