None that I am aware of. I know a couple of people personally who had it and love it. They have worn some kind of eyeglass or contact their whole life and they don't now. Hope this helps you.

Lasik Horror Stories

2016-10-30 04:55:25 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

My vision is 20/400 which is really bad. There was a time I really wanted to do the Lasik surgery. However, quite frankly, I am quite hesitant now... because of the possible side effects, and the other risks, etc.

To make things worst, one of my co-workers' wife recently did surgery on her eyes (not Lasik, but some sort of laser surgery) and she is now blind.

I have heard that the chances are slim that the surgery wouldn't succeed.... but I cherish my eyesight too much.

Anyways, I opted to try exercises to see if they would improve my vision. I created a blog so that people can follow my progress. You can check it out at:

Hope this helps....

Beesand. .. is an idiot. What else would happen from getting lasik except your vision improves? Stupid. OK, yea I've heard a horror story from that lady comedian on the D list. Also my neighbor got it, and says she sees what they call 'halo's at night, or kind of a drag on images, or ghost.

Lasik eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Yes - Kathy Griffin (the comediene) was partially blinded in one eye from a botched Lasik procedure. Definitely do research on your doctor before you undergo the procedure. Ask how many of these he has done. Ask if he's ever had any problems, etc.

I haven't heard many horror stories, but I know comedian Kathy Griffin has had complications from this surgery. You can read about it on her website, kathygriffin.net. under ''lasik news''.

Good luck with your research!

Haven't heard any horror stories as such, only that it hasn't worked at all, or eyesight returns to how it was before surgery not long after having the procedure done.

Best thing I ever did!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you look for the horror stories you will find many. Why don't you ask for the good that has come to many after having the surgery?

So far it seems it only makes you see better than you did before...sometimes it doesn't make you see as perfect as you would like...I suppose that's when eyes are seriously bad...but...the downside I've seen is the red marks it temporarily leaves on your face under your eyes...stands out like a sore thumb...two big red spots...covering most of your face...they go away w/ a little time...the outcome is worth the effort...also there's the price...which can be costly...gl...
