For me it has always been at the late hours of the night, as I am a night owl, and everyone has gone to bed, and I am free to play soft music, or to just read his word, or write in my prayer journal. It allows me if it's a nice night to walk quietly in my neighborhood and talk softly to the Lord. Sometimes, it's just laying my recliner back and listening to his word on cd or tape. Once in awhile I just pick up a hymn book and read the songs, the testimonies they give are awesome. And if I'm really needing alot of time away to clear some heavy heart matters, I take a personal day - I let my family know that I'll be home for supper, and I take a nature hike, or just sit in a park, an abandoned parking lot, away from the focus of traffic. Solitude with God is more a matter of my mind focusing on God and not being distracted by the things of the world, and sometimes it is hard to do that. I've been known to run a hot tub of water and just lock myself in with ear plugs and a do not disturb so that I can truly tune out all that bombards me and focus on my relationship with Christ. Regardless of how you choose to remove the world's noise, it's worth doing, and it's worthy doing frequently! Lord, lead this one to find that place of quiet so they can bond with you, and essential part of our growth. Amen.

I live in the country,so I take nature walks through the forest with nothing but God and nature as my companions. These walks give me time to not only enjoy the beautiful scenery around me that God has so lovingly created, but bask in the prescence of my Father. It is perfect peace and solitude, and the longer I talk to God,the more peaceful I feel. Many times I'll find a stream to sit beside and just give Him praise and glory for how good He is and all the blessings He has bestowed upon me and all His people. And then there are times when I just need to get away from everything and escape to the forest where I always find the peace I need. Of course,I can talk to God anywhere, but the woods is that one special place reserved for just Him and I.

I find that my most effective bonding time is in my car when I commute to work. And I don't always do the same thing. Sometimes I spend the time in prayer. Some times I listen to the bible on CD. Other times, I turn the radio on to a station that broadcasts sermons. We bond with God by getting his word into our hearts and minds.
The important thing is finding a place and time in which you are least likely to be disturbed. You may have to get up 15-30 minutes early. Or, you might wait until everybody else has gone to bed. Whatever the case, there will always be SOME interruptions. All you can do is deal with them and get back to business.
Just do whatever you've gotta do!

Anywhere quiet, or just shut off the noise and read "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website. If you are a thinking and a genuine person, God will come to you, and you can bond with him through your heart in a unique way that will not contradict your brain and common sense.

when I was driving 45 minutes to work i had a great time talking to god, i used to have a room apart from the house that i would go to and read the bible and pray, i would tell my family where i was going and why and they would leave me alone, my wife also used the same procedure.
sometimes i will just set in my truck and talk to god. other times i go to the beach and other time i go to the river or mountains, and praise god for his wonders.
i seldom pray out loud but i pray constantly, just between me and god.
i find that if i start with praise, sometimes i sing praise song, then i move closer to god, it is a matter of me opening up to him, he is always open to me.

Just between you and him?---Go to www.savior.org. He is there in the Blessed Sacrament of the Alter. You will know it is him. It is phenomenal! And then remember he is there like that at every Catholic Mass.
This is more than just prayer --this is face to face--He said "I am the bread that comes down from Heaven"

You have to make time for God. It can be alone in your bathroom with the door locked for all God cares. Just do it.
