lucifer was cast out of heaven with 1/3 of the angels, because he became prideful. he wanted to exalt himself over god. the bible describes him as an beautiful angel actually an archangel meaning he had some leadership in heaven, he was over the worship of god. but in all his beauty he became prideful and wanted the glory that was given to god he led a revolt in heaven and was cast out with 1/3 of the angels following his lead. read ezekiel 28:14-19 and isaiah 14:13-15 no one can be god not satan not you or me.

Pride
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how are thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine HEART, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,in the sides of the North
I will ascend above the heights of teh clouds, I will be like the most HIGH
Yet thou shalt be brought down to HELL to the sides of the Pit
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms
Revelation 12:8
And prevailed not; NEITHER was their place found any more in heaven
ANd the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him

when god created adam he told all the angels to bow to him. Lucifer felt that he should bow to no one other than God and that he himself was above adam. Thus if God said that there shall be no god above him Lucifer felt that god was going against his own rules. Thus the rebellion in heaven. Also lucifer is not his actual name it means light of the sun in latin denoting the state from which he fell

He chose to leave heaven when he rebelled against God, but having made that choice he was forced to accept the consequences, just as each of us will be.

Because he found out that Jesus the most high son of God and the true God was going to become a man and he would then have to bow to a man---actually serve men. He revolted and said to God "Non Servium--(I will not serve)" Then St. Michael and him fought it out and he was kicked out of Heaven. St Michael the Archangel had the right way of thinking --he was insulted for God--He said "Who is like God?" Meaning who are you to challenge God?

He was kicked out of heaven because he thought he could be greater and better than God. He tried to start a rebellion. So God dropped him like lightning to the earth.

Isaiah and Ezekial both state that he was made perfect and beautiful .He led the choir, but because he had free will like us ,he chose to let ego get in the way.he thought he could pull a "military coup" on God ,ascend and take over the throne. He was cast down to earth. He managed to fool 1/3 of the angels and they went too(demons now)References in Isaiah,Ezekial,Job,Revelation,John, and Jude as well as Daniel.
