I'm 19 and in university right now and I really want to boost my confidence with approaching girls. I'm shy but I'm not shy. I'll go up to a girl and talk to her, but I don't know what to say. I don't try and make slick moves and I'm not a cocky person. What do girls want guys to say them? I like having intelligent conversations. Do girls like that? What's the right place and wrong place to approach a girl? Rate these places as good or bad to approach a girl: cafeteria, library, bar. Please don't give me one sentence answers.

Don't approach a girl in a library. She's either there to study or get things off her mind. If anything, pick up a book you like and sit next to her while you read. Proximity is just as good as talking. It's body language. An intelligent conversation is WONDERFUL. Sure, we can act like we're interested in something, but when you've really sparked an interest, you'll know it. Common interests.
i.e. I like art and science. Specifically photography, because I take a class on it and it's a good mix of the two. Don't make up some b.s. if you know something about one of YOUR interests, use it and don't be afraid to relate it to something else in your life, that's what women do subconsciously ALL the time. good luck.

I love being able to have an actual intelligent conversation with a guy. I think its awesome! If you want to take a girl out just start with simple conversation and ask her out half way through. Or when every you feel comfortable with asking her. Try and portray confidence but not *********. Pay attention to her body language too. If she's turned toward to and makes good eye contact, she's interested. If she's turned away from and constantly looks around or fiddles with things she probably isn't into you.

oh contrare my good friend. A library is a good place to meet a smart and interesting girl and most likely not a party hooker, however, do not interrupt someone that is studying diligently. That is a bad idea. However, a quick comment or two when it presents itself will get yourr proverbial foot in the door. If she responds and seems very interested chat her ear off. Good luck killer.

In a library-- sit across the table from her. Make eye contact and look down at your book and smile at the same time. Then look at her again. Don't look down if she looks again. If she wants to talk she can. Most people don't go to the library to meet people but you never know...

cafeteria-- are you going to talk to her in between bites? Smile between mouthfuls? cafeterias are bad for conversation. period.

bar-- says sex.
