how come my belkin 8 in 1 media reader is not reading my SD card?

If the card was added, it needs to be installed to read anything. Open My Computer and see if a bunch of extra drives are listed.
You should see Removable drive (drive letter) several times. Mine are listed as: H, I, J, and K.
Right click My Computer and check Properties and under Hard ware, Device Manager , Disk drives see if they are listed, if not you need to reinstall the software.
Be sure to read the installation manual very carefully to avoid mistakes.
