For gout you need to have specialist drugs such as indomethacin. This is not advice. See a Doctor for advice.

Phish is wrong - you can buy brufen with 12.5mg of codeine phosphate and you can buy paracetamol with dihydrocodeine. However opiates are not the answer to gout - in fact they are not the answer to most pain unless prescribed by a pain-specialist doctor or nurse.

Why do people ask these questions on here instead of asking the professionaly qualified people. NHS direct is free and can be contacted on-line by telephone. Alternatively you can use a walk-in centre, or a pharmacy.

Opiods will not be effective in chronic gout as they have no anti-inflammatory properties. In acute gout, there is a build up of uric acid crystals in the joint which causes inflammation and pain - the standard treatment is usually indomethacin or naproxen for the acute phase, then a preventative medication called allopurinol once the inflammation has settled. You can buy some kinds of anti-inflammatories at a pharmacy or supermarket, but you will need to register with a GP temporarily for prescription drugs such as naproxen and allopurinol.

You need anti-inflammatories. You can buy some in the chemist but you should have a blood test for urate.

If you often get gout you should be taking a drug called allopurinol which stops you from getting more attacks but you can only have this when the joint isn't inflammed.

In the meantime make sure you drink plenty of water.

Gout occurs because of the build up of uric acid crystals.

Some people suffer from gouty arthritis. It would be best to see a doctor

Go to a UK pharmacy and purchase Solpadeine. This is paracetamol and codeine combined at the rate of 500mg of paracetamol to 8mg of codeine per tablet. it is safe to take this 4 times in any 24hrs, i.e. at 6 hour intervals.

Co-codamol is also an identical medicine, and is the generic term.

This is the strongest analgesic it is possible to buy in the UK without a prescription.

Go to a walk-in clinic to see a doctor. Or call your local hospital nurse-line to seek a referral.

This on-line pharmacy doesn't require a prescription, but they don't carry the drug class you are seeking. They stock pain meds and anti-inflammatories, NO narcotics.

Neurofen Plus contains quite a bit more codeine than paracetamol/codeine tablets.

you have to see a doctor and have the prescribe it for you. Don't even think about obtaining it any other way. It is too risky if you get caught.

Go to the pharmacist. They will tell you an address or phone number of a G.P. Register, get your prescription, pay for it, and sort yourself out.
