would anyone know why she does this?

LOL... because that is what they do!
She is saying "allright, anyone within hearing distance .. i am out here now, and i am protecting this property and dont you come mess with me if you know what is good for you!" LOL!!!
when chi's look in the mirror they see a rottweiller, hehehehe.

she could be barking b/c of freedom, just saying hello. but also dogs have a 6th sense that we don't. they're very touchy to other things around them that we can't see, hear, smell.. etc.
i agree give her some toys and see if that doens't help. it could be her keen sense or it could be that she's just glad to be free. my dog would run for hours all over the neighbor when we let him out and then he'd stop and come sit on the porch. dogs are funny

She's just saying.... It's about damn time ya let me out... GOSH!!!!
Just mess'n with ya. Dogs do the craziest things. What can I tell ya. I would just bark back at her.... I'm no help at all huh?

chiwawa dogs always do that.Buy her doggie toys and bones to keep her occupied while she's outside. Or find a neighbor or friend who has a dog she can play with.
