The better question is whether religion is good. It seems to me that anything that demands you follow a set of rules - like jihad or praying a certain way at certain times of the day, can create structure in a person's life. If a person measures God's favor by the number of rituals one follows, Islam is probably right for you. If you're looking for truth, don't follow the crowd for the way that leads to death is wide and many are on it.
