i just told my kids when they were that age that they needed the belts on to be safe. they trusted me and didn't unbuckle. Have you tried explaining why it needs to be buckled and how you have yours buckled the whole time?

i've heard people pull over and refuse to drive if the child unbuckles. don't know how much that helps if the child doesn't care where you're going!

I'd tell my son that the traffice police always look out for kids who don't buckle their seat belts because its against the law and they can go to jail. Of course I also let them know why its better to have the belt safely buckled, and do a light braking on the car safely in the car park to let him know how unstable he is in the unbuckled seat. It rattled him enough when he had to grab on and miss the seat when I did that.

you may attempt twisting the backside of the seatbelt around backwards so as that the button is dealing with down in direction of the seat extremely than up and turn the area that clips into it around, too. this might make it greater durable to unbuckle the seatbelt, yet in all probability no longer impossible for a six 300 and sixty 5 days previous. (This trick used to artwork whilst my son become approximately 2-3 and had a habit of unbuckling the seatbelt). previous that 2 innovations: a million. Pull the automobile over competently ASAP, turn the engine off and tell the youngster "This automobile isn't shifting lower back till anybody is competently buckled up". Then wait. Repeat as needed. 2. in case you're able to do it competently (no different autos in section, and so on.), whilst the youngster unbuckles and starts to get out of the seat, provide up the automobile via hitting the brakes somewhat perplexing. A surprising provide up that throws him somewhat off stability might in simple terms scare him basically a splash into awareness that there is a clarification for the seatbelt and booster seat.

I don`t know, but I would definitely buy that!
Sounds like a smart kid you have there! 3 year olds understand (if you teach them), how dangerous it is to unbuckle himself while you are driving!! Just keep telling him, and say NO. Let him unbuckle ONLY when you are ready to get out of the car.

While driving slowly after your child unbuckles, do a brake check to ensure that the child gets scared enough to understand what happens to unbuckled people in an accident

we had this problem too. my 3 year old would push his buckle while we were driving. i'd pull the car over as quickly as i could and buckle him back up. i explained how dangerous it was for him to be unbuckled and mommy could could get in big trouble if he didn't stay buckled. but i let him unbuckle himself after the car is parked and cut off. and he's perfectly content with staying buckled up now. just try to explain in his words what can happen, he'll understand.

My son did that at his age once when I was driving . I immediently pulled over and very sternly said how dangerous it was to ride in a car with no seat belt. He had never done it since.

I brake check a few times( Like 2 or 3) and she got flung 1 or 2 times and hit her head and figured out how to put it on. fixed the problem and she knows wut the word 'buckle up" means. That and my friend started crying every time she didn't have her belt on and she put it back on( way to go rick. u rock)

My son was the same way..I used to turn the buckle backward so the button you press to release was on the opposite side. That way only I could undo it.
