the alcohol will damage the bonding that aheres the brackets to the teeth. Stick with either an alcohol free germ fighter like Crest ProHealth or a fluoride mouthrinse like Act.

hi
my daughter has had braces for three months , she will need them twice most likely. right now she needs them because basically our dentist told us to wait and by that time her permanent teeth erupted really fast. she is only 6. anyway, she'd have to have four permanent teeth pulled if we didn't act immediately.
WE WERE TOLD NOT TO USE ANY WHITENING TOOTH PASTE OR MOUTHWASH OR ANY ANTI PLAQUE AGENTS. USE STRICTLY FLUORIDE AND NOT ANYTHING SAYING FIGHTS PLAQUE. THE REASON FOR THIS IS THAT THEY WHITEN YOUR TEETH. ONCE THE BRACES COME OFF, THERE WILL BE SPOTS FROM WHERE THE BRACES ONCE WERE. THOSE AREAS WEREN'T TREATED BY THE WHITENING SO IT WILL DEFINITELY STAND OUT.
seriously, stop using that stuff ASAP

I don't think it will extremely harm your braces but be careful because you don't want to get your teeth too white right now because if you get them too white your teeth underneath the braces will be stained looking.
