Some of my son's tubs of playdoh are really soft and sticky, ( they are less than a year since they were given to him) they don't smell bad, but they are so hard to play with because it sticks like mud to all the tools and moulds. The others are ok, they are still easy to play with and can still make shapes and balls with them. I don't see an expiry, should I just chuck the lousy tubs away in case its dangerous to use? Or can I just mix them together with the others to make it less sticky? Will that help? thanks for any advise!

I usually discard the ones that are either really hard (and not able to mold together anymore)...or are really soft and sticky (because they cause lots of messies). We always try to keep them in their containers with the lids on....but they still dry out rather quickly.

I find the cheap yucky sticky kinds are the kind that are just that, cheap, not even real play doh.
The play doh brand gets really rock hard when it goes bad at my house.
Just go buy new cans. They are really cheap at Walmart or Target. And kids always like to get something new!

Try and add/mix in a little flour to the sticky ones see if that makes a difference..just a little dusting at a time and knead it in.

Play-Doh is very cheap. To me, it's not worth messing with, I'd just chuck it and buy some more.
