I recently asked a question regaurding dr perscribed pain med.
I was denied a job because of being on a narcotic , even though dr perscribed.you can say i wont be denied this job ,but i have in the past, their reasoning was cant perform job safely while on nartcotic, wouldnt believe i only took it on off work hours, even though perscribed that way,sure i could get a lawer and fight it but who has money when layed off? my question is , is it possible to cover this up?I do take it as perscribed, and I really need this job.to save my house ,please help

just don't take it while on the job. I wouldn't even mention it on application. If they are drug testing you, you can buy a TEA from health food store that will remove the drugs from your body.

You cant work around heavy machinery if you take pain killers. If you already work there they will put you on light duty, and if you dont have the job you probably arent getting it. Your going to have to knock off the painkillers.

get a note from your doctor verifying the prescription and stating that it won't interfere with work duties.

once you have the drug demonstrate screen, tell the guy which you're on vicodin. provide the guy the call and contact style of your MD. as long as you have evidence you're on the drug for a valid reason, you're ok.

ask your doctor if a non-narcotic pain medication can help.

find professional means other than a lawyer.. there should be some agency that can pardon this
