They are taught to believe that they are the only ones in the world who are correct and everyone else will suffer eternally for turning their back on God. There are several sections in the book of Luke alone where Jesus sends the disciples out specifically to gather followers and woe to anyone who doesn't change their ways. Most use Mark 16:15-16 as their reasoning. I won't type it out to spare everyone. Christianity is just that, blind faith without actually researching anything, and any research that is done is biased. It goes back to believing that they are right and everyone else is wrong. Whereas any other religion tells you to research and question everything you've been taught and to think for yourself.
I have met a rare few who are not arrogant and pushy but they are few and far between.

Some are arrogant, some are not. Some feel they must force things on others, others live their lives simply and humbly. The fact is, you can't lump all Christians together in one category. I go to the Episcopal church and you won't find any fire and brimstone, hatefullness or talk of going to hell there. So then I step out of that world into yahoo answers and I don't understand what is going on here. I have never met a "hatefull" christian. I believe they are out there. But I think alot of you Christian bashers (who are found in every Christian chat site, they are drawn to them for some reason) are reacting to the Hollywood version of Christians. Try meeting some real ones, you might be surprised.

The disciples were given The Great Commission by Jesus at the time of His ascension. "You will go into all the world and preach the gospel...."
We believe we have found the truth and want to share it with others. A true Christian would try not to be disrespectful in presenting the gospel but there are always exceptions to the rule. Even the Bible says that there will be many false teachers of the faith. These people do the work of the Devil and their goal is to keep others from believing.
I pray that you won't judge Christ by bad examples. Look at the teachings of Christ Himself. Maybe we're presenting the message wrong.

I agree with you. I wish they understood that. Wiccans don't generally talk about their spiritual beliefs. I find it a good policy. It lets the other people make a decision based on their own needs and feelings rather than coloring it with another persons.

Where is our weaponry? Do you think we use words for Bullets? I know why you feel this way, because the Word of God is as sharp as a double edged sword and it cuts to the core. It is just to your benefit is all.

I think famous atheists of the last couple centuries have the market cornered on hubris. And now, you have Richard Dawkins writing outside his field, pretending to know something about religious psychology. It is embarrasing.

Could we can it with the generalizations? I don't really care what you believe or don't. I'm not going to bother you about it mostly because that's not my way. Not all Christians are "in your face people".

Probably they are satisfied with their religion. However I dont really think that satisfaction does make a religion better.
