Is it a new piercing? If so you are NOT suppose to take them out right away. You need to give them time to heal before removing them at all.
It don't sound like they are infected. You removed the jewelry and applied some antiseptic on the area. So the hole in your ear from the piercing tried to heal it' self. That is why the scab is there. If you can put the ear rings back in but before doing so make sure you clean the ear rings and take a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol on it and disinfect the area where the piercing is. Then put the ear rings back in and leave them there and keep the area cleaned. If you can't get the ear ring to go back in then consult your piercer.
Do not twist the ear ring for new piercings. It will irritate the piercing and cause the healing process to slow down and may cause an infection from touching the piercing with your hands.

First, you'l be just fine.
Second, if they are new piercings, you may have irritated them a little and that what happens when you change too soon.
Or, if you've had pierced ears for a long time, there's a chance that you've had some sort of irritation, either by the posts not being smooth, or the metal the posts are made of...maybe even a metal allergy/reaction.

Third, you can take care of it and it will get better pretty quickly. First off, if you haven't already, don't pick the scabs off. Mix about half a teaspoon of salt (preferably sea salt) in 8 oz of warm water. Wet a paper towel with the salt water and hold it on your ears. This will soothe them and loosen up the scabby bits. If it's not dark red/scab colored, it's just dried lymph and skin cells that came about from the irritation. After soaking and loosening with the salt water, you should be able to remove anything left on or around the hole.

Then clean off the earrings you were previously wearing with no problems...a little alcohol wouldn't hurt. Put them back in...if left alone irritated, particularly if they're new piercings, they run the risk of closing.

In about 2 weeks after the irritation goes away, try the diamond studs...make sure they're clean and don't have any rough edges. Give them a quick alcohol wipe down (if they happen to catch the tissue you're wiping them with, that could be the problem) and put them back on. If they cause the soreness the same way as before, you know it's the earrings themselves and not you...you might not be able to wear them if they do that to your ears.

Keep in mind that just because the stone is a real diamond, that doesn't necessarily mean the setting is as high quality.

LOL. Honey relax! Your ears are going to be okay!
Let me explain whats going on. Your body is made up tissues and cells and ect. Since you pierced your ear, you made an incersion in a tissue and the cells around it will die in order to heal. So when you wake up in the morning and you see the scab the scab is really dead skin cells.
DONOT I REPEAT DONOT cleanse to0o0 often! It will make you vulnerable to an infection! Cleanse it 3 to 4 times a day and make sure your hands are clean!

Also make sure that when your trying to place the earrings back on, be nice to your ears and clean the earrings! If the piercing wont go through then wait at least a week or two before getting them repierced. Because two piercing in the same spot isnt reccomended.

PS: Make sure you are aware that your skin may be sensitive to the earrings and not the piercing itself!

Hope this helps!

You may be allergic to the metal. A friend of mine has an allergic reaction to ALL metals (even gold!) and therefore wears plastic or metal alloys. Check what the studs are made of. Have you worn earrings with posts of the same metal before?
If this IS the case, don't worry: you can still wear the earrings, just not longer than a few hours at a time.

If it's scabbing, it's healing. If there is any infection, keep applying alchohol or peroxide. If it is a new piercing, leave the stud in, but keep applying the solution of your choice, they will both help. You may be allergic to whatever the stud is made out of. Most often people are fine if it is real gold or silver, you will have to wait and see. You should clean anything before you put it in your ear!!!

The best thing you can do is get a little green bottle of campo phonique whis is an antiseptic, use it several times a day after cleaning lobes well, with a swab. You might be extra careful and clean your earings in alcohol before inserting them.you might try silver post when they heal.you may be sensitive to the gold

Are you absolutely sure that the studs contained no nickel whatsoever? I know that if something contains just a trace of nickel, my ears blow up like balloons!

Make sure on every pair of earrings you get from now on say "Sterling Silver", "Surgical Steel", "Hypoallergenic", " 10-24K Gold", "For Sensitive Ears", or something similar.

Your ears should return to normal overnight, but look at the packaging that the diamond studs came in. Does is say that it is made of gold, silver, or steel? That is something that you always have to do when you're buying earrings.

well do/did you follow the cleanign instruction? how old are your piercings? you are supposed to wait 6 weeks before you change your posts. it sounds liek your ears are infected. you may want to do sea salt soaks for a few days to pull out the junk thats in there, speed up the healing and aliviate the pain. to do this you fill up a small cup or bowl with DISTILLED WATER ONLY> then add in a pinch of NON IODIZED SEA SALT! microwave it till its warm. then grab a few cotton balls ( one in front and back of the ear piercing) than hold them there for 15 minutes. you may need a few more cotton balls since its on your ears, you will get wet too. lol works for me! i just got 2 cartilege piercings done yesterday and sea salt soaks help so much with the pain. sea salt soaks increase blood flow to the are, (because of the warm water) speeding up the healing process, and pulls out the lymph (bacteria, looks liek puss out of a zit) which is good.
tey the sea salt soaks for a few days. even thogh you took out your jewelry you will still need to take care of your piercing since the hole can close up and the infection can be inside still..... so even if you cant get the jewelry back in you still need to take care of it. and then you will need to wait a few months till the infection completely goes way and get it re pierced.

maybe you could be allergis to the jewlery? what are the posts made of? gold? white gold? stainless steel? surgical steel? nickle? you may be allergic to the jewlery as well.

oh yeah you should do the sea salt soaks every day or night whenever you have time =) and clean your ears with your piercing solution 2 to 3 times a day. overcleanign can irritate you piercing and cause you more pain and discomfort

have you not been wearing earrings a lot? Sometimes when i haven't worn earrings for a while or didn't clean my new ones, i have the same problem. basically your ears a sensitive and the scabs are signs of healing--not infection.

I think its normal its just from changing to different new earings. It should be ok as long as they arent sore and swollen.Keep putting the atiseptic stuff on them.
