Okay, this isn't the funnest thing to do, but it works!
My husband and I raised a kitten that was only a week old. Our vet told us to take a cotton ball that is slightly moistened with warm water, (It shouldn't be hot, but warmer than lukewarm.) and rub the kitten's behind gently. A Momma cat basically teaches their babies how to poop by licking their butt. So, that's what you have to do -
They will often squirm and squeal - especially if they are constipated, but it works. Don't give up, the little one is gonna be fine!

Are you feeding them cow's milk? If so, please stop right now and buy a kitten milk replacer like KMR. Cats can't digest cow's milk properly. Like everyone else said, get a warm paper towel, cotton ball, etc. and massage their anus to get them to defecate. If you are still having trouble, put a little bit of Karo syrup in their milk (only about a drop or so) and let them drink it. If they still aren't defecating by morning take them to the vet and he/she can give them an enema and tell you what to do to prevent it from happening again.
Good luck with your little kitties!!

DO NOT Give the kittens "cold milk". That suggestion is deranged. It will ensure further constipation. I have always used KMR mixed with a bit of (human) Gerber Baby Food Stage 2 Chicken (Put in with warmed KMR and shake to liquify.) I have raised many kittens this way. Also remember to stimulate bowel movements with warm, wet cotton. You heat the KMR a bit, too, right? Test on your wrist before feeding kits.

We raised abandoned kittens also and I bought a book on the subject, And the Runestar is right, massage their anus, do not insert any thing into the anus, use a slightly warm washcloth as this simulates the mother's tongue, the mother cat does this to keep the nest clean. You can also buy kitty bottles and formula from most pet stores, please give them this instead of cow's milk, just warm it as you would for a human baby.

Go to the drugstore and ask for some infant glycerin suppositories.Insert a tiny piece into the kitten's rectum. This should cause a bowel movement in a few minutes. Also, try giving them some goats milk(warmed)with a few drops of Karo syrup in it.Make sure they are getting enough liquids, they may be slightly dehydrated.

i bottle feed orphaned kittens all the time i work at a no kill animal shelter.. i have four right now 3 of them were only 2 ounces when i got them and the other one was 7.5 ounces... one drop... one drop of mineral oil... ususally the change from mothers milk to the powdered stuff your mixing up for them can cause some tummy issues... you can just put the drop in the bottle but if he/she wont eat right now then directly in the mouth,, but careful one drop onyl if you give too much you can cause bad diarrhea.... good luck..... :)

They are still quite young to be on dry food. You should be feeding them wet food watered down a little. You could also buy a milk supplement. Even Whiskas milk treat would be okay. All of those as well as rubbing their bellies and giving them plenty of water should get things running smoothly.
Don't worry it'll happen.

I hope I don't offend anyone, but
No insertion of anything into the anus,
Avoid giving mineral, being a lightweight oil it can easily be inhaled instead of swallowed, and being inorganic (made from rocks) the lungs wont be able to break it down and it could cause lung scarring.
only use vegetable oil if any oil at all and just like someone said, only one drop.
Congratulations on Resolution, I hope your Kitties thrive!

I got my kitten at 5 weeks old on a Saturday, I immediately started feeding her Gerber Rice cereal with warm milk and she pooped 3 days later on Tues., before her siblings., who by chance were still eating adult canned & dry food fed by a friend of mine.
