Just to avoid getting yelled at, the correct term is simply 'stretching' your ears. The jewelry has various names (plugs, spirals...etc), and the word 'Gauge' should only be referred to as the size names... (ie. 0 gauge, 2 gauge, 10 gauge) and after 00' usually, there are referred to as the measurements (20 mm in metric, or fraction of inches 3/4".) Just to inform.

Okay, so as I understand it, you've been at 2 for about a year, right? Well, how did you stretch your ears? Did you do it yourself, or did you have a pro. do it? If you did it yourself, did you use lube? And did you dead stretch, or use a taper....?

Dead Stretching is when you simply stretch with the jewelry instead of the tool(taper) used by professionals to stretch piercings. Dead stretching can cause significant damage to ears, reguardless of health of wait time. My ears usually throb or tingle when I get them stretched. Blood is never a good sign. You might have ripped the fistula(the tube of flesh formed and that heals when you pierce your ears) of your ears. If you ripped your ears, it's best to go to your piercer and ask him what to do, I could give you suggestions of how to take care of them properly, since I cannot observe them, myself.

So I suggest going to a piercer.

I hate to sound rude to another user, but neosporin is a BIG no-no! That is a very bad thing to do to your piercings/body modifications. Neosporin creates an enviornment for all kinds of bacteria to grow, and should NOT be used. You can wash them with antiacterial soap (but higher reccomended is either provon or satin soap, which is more powerful and works great, and most piercing shops sell one or the other.) I suggest using sea salt(either the spray H2-Ocean), vitamin E, Jojoba oil on piercings..there are many, many kinds of aftercare that can be used to help, but as I said, go to your piercer. The hardness could possibly be keloids developing, although, like I said,I cannot properly observe them to help you, enough.

But if you have any more questions that I can help you with just message me.

Don't listen to the ignorance of Sally. Stretched piercings/lobes are beautiful, ESPECIALLY on women. Women are just beautiful, though.

It seems like you may have riped it a little bit. Don't play with it let it heal up. When stretching your piercing strange things tend to happen. I would say the bleeding is normal and most likely you have riped the hole a little bit or just been playing with it too much. It's irritate and causing the bleeding and the tingling. It's to be expected when stretching your piercing. Follow the aftercare that was provide to you from the shop you got it done at. After a few days if it is still bleeding and tingling you should call the shop that you got it done at. They may ask you to come in so they can look at it. Or if you are worried you can call the shop or go into the shop ASAP and ask them about it. They are not going to get mad at you for calling to ask. That's part of their jobs. The hardness you are feeling is keloids (scar tissue) which is normal with piercings. Some people don't notice it others do. If it gets to be infected consult your piercer ASAP for advice you may have to take it out and then re-stretch it if you choose to.

I'm not going to yell at you!!! When I stretched my lobe tingled for a couple of hours. If it is still tingling I suggest that you wash your lobe with some antibacterial soap. Do that for the one that is bleeding also. Did you stretch them or did you have your piercer do it for you? Anyway, wash them both with some antibacterial soap...I use dial pump soap. I keep it in the shower so when I get a new piercing or I stretch or get a new tattoo I can clean it well when I shower.

The ear that is bleeding may have a small cut on the inside.

If your lobes are hard you are developing keloids. Don't worry!!! Just put moist heat on the two times a day and they will clear up and soften up. I've been there...I know how it feels.
Good luck.

The tingle and bleeding resulted from what seems to me to just be a lack of stretching the hole before adding the new gauge. When you gauge your ears, you are supposed to add some kind of pressure to slowly stretch the lobe before sticking in the next gauge. Because of how long it has been and your hinting at a lack of stretching, I would call this fairly normal. Just clean the gauge and hole daily with peroxide and when you go to stick the gauge back in, lube it with Neosporin. That way it not only goes in easier, but also treats any kind of existing bacteria and promotes healthy regrowth of the tissue you tore.

However, if this continues for a week, then talk to some one like the person who pierced it...

Hope I've helped!

Tingling might be bad... there might be blood getting stuck in the lobe. Watch the skin part. If it starts to get dark and purpley, take the larger gauge out immediately or you risk losing your earlobe! The bleeding is a result of tearing and should stop in a few days. Head to your local peircing parlor and they'll probably have a saline solution you can use to clean it in the mean time to prevent infection and ease the pain a little. How long they bleed depends largely on irritation: don't touch them and they should stop within the hour! Hope this helped!

you might want to see your doctor or talk to a professional tattoo/peirce person in a shop. maybe a little ice on it each night will help. mine have bled a few times as well. im sure the scar part is scar tissue from it bleeding out of the sides or something. maybe you play with it too much or ripped it a little.

What are you trying to do, rip your head off? Look at MY ears. I've been trying to rip them off for years and now they look like wings.

Are we on the same page or am I in a different book entirely?
