So we took her in becuase we thought she was pregnant. But then she slimmed down and never had milk...
Now, 1 month later, she is very fat and her whole stomach is hard. Now she looks very pregnant...
How can I tell if she is pregnant now? And why was she fat before, if she wasn't pregnant then?

What are you feeding her? Are you changing her diet around a lot?
If she isn't spayed then she is probably pregnant, but you shouldn't be squishing around on her tummy. You usually don't feel kittens unless you are pressing hard...dont do that.
Take her in again and if she isn't pregnant this time then get her spayed and find out why she is getting fat and lump and then slimming down and then fat again. llll

Why didn't you have her spayed at the same time? She had a phantom pregnancy
Has she been outside and in the company of male un-neutered males?
Get her to the vet and have her spayed please, or at least have her checked out in case there is something else wrong ... Then have her spayed
