Well, I'm going to be courageous enough to share my story. I am a 30 year old woman. I am now married with a 3 month old daughter but I have had 3 abortions in my lifetime. Two were from being irresponsible (ages 19 and 20), the last one my partner used a condom that busted (age 22). I am not a pro life person. I will not block a young lady's right to have a safe abortion performed by licensed professionals, HOWEVER... if I could turn back the hands of time I would have never had those abortions. I feel tremendous guilt about them even though I now have a beautiful healthy baby girl. The whole ordeal can leave a woman emotionally scarred. I believe in a woman's CHOICE. This last time I got pregnant, I chose not to have an abortion. that might not be the best choice for another woman but I won't judge them for doing so.
I just know I'll never have another one.

I am for abortion, and I know that many women will see this as me being pro-abortion just becuase I don't know what it's like to have a child but I'm logical and dont' really care. I do believe that it all depends on the trimester and if there is a health/safety issue for the mother (and after the second trimester) child. What a whole lot of people don't know is that only about half of the zygotes even make it to the uteran wall to start developing. But even once they do they must develop and are just cells, in which I do believe that a person has the right to terminate that cells life. Now there are going to be people saying "well that's murder still" but think about all of the skin cells that you "murder" when you scratch your arm. Or even at that the sperm that fertilizes the egg is a cell and millions of sperm are ejaculated upon orgasm in males, so what about the life of all of those cells? You can also factor in that it is much safer for the mother to terminate the cell during the first trimester, because thousands of women still die during child birth, but occassionally during the second and especially third trimesters it causes a safety issue for both the mother and child. During the third trimester the fetus is viable and has the rights that a human does.
Abortions for some Small flags for others!!!!!
Oh and as far as that whole bible thing is concerned doesnt' the bible state that all of the old laws are no more after the comming of christ.

In the biblical sense the Commandment is Thou shall not commit murder. Unlike what some have posted as Thou shalt not kill.
Killing is condoned in the bible. So that is not a legitimate argument against abortion. Abortion is a necessary procedure where the life of the mother is at grave risk. Only in this circumstance should a therapeutic abortion be considered. Back street abortions with hooks or coat hangers have been around for a century. I do not look forward to the day when they will return to the US but some groups want that sort of thing to happen again.
In my spiritual belief system, all life, once it breaths, is sacred. This is my path and I do not expect others to follow it nor agree with it.
I am sadden when I learn of someone who has been put into the position of having to consider abortion. I am horrified by the terrorism any woman must face by Americans who call themselves righteous when they find themselves in a bad situation.
I hold with the ideals that it is a woman's right to choose her own path and not bow to the bully tactics or the dictates of callous, pompous, two faced, spiritual terrorists who have the unmitigated gall to call themselves righteous.
It is no ones business what goes on between a doctor and their patient. Some people need to keep their noses out of a womens crotch and nevermind what or who has been there.

I am a 27 year old mother to a five year old son and my take on abortion is "It is every woman's right to choose".
If something were to be wrong (badly) with my unborn baby Or if i would die if i beared the child or if i was raped i would have an abortion. I have not had one though.
People shouldn't judge women that have had abortions. Only god can do that.
"God forbid if you ever had to walk a mile in their shoes then you would know what it's like to have to choose"
People that say that these women/girls are murderers should not say that cause if it was really murder i don't believe doctors would be doing abortions.
And people that are against abortions let something come up like if they were raped or they would die if they had their baby or something bad was wrong with the baby and would only suffer in pain/life and see if they wouldn't be making an appointment at the abortion clinic.

I would like to know how many anti-abortion people, have been in the very difficult position of making this decision? Let's not forget that every situation is different as well. Maybe a woman wasn't raped... maybe she was molested as a young girl and abandoned by her father, which led her to seeking sexual attention from men because that's all she's ever known. Is she less of a victim then someone who was raped just yesterday? PLEASE, don't judge a person til you've walked a mile in their shoes.

My opinion is it is wrong no matter what the reason. God wanted the child concieved for a purpose. I think anyone who has an abortion is selfish. Yes, I know a lot of people are going to say nasty things about me for that statement, but everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. I believe if the doctor says you will die if you give birth you shouldn't have an abortion because if it is your time to go, God will take you regardless of if you have an abortion or not. You cannot change when you will die. If the doctor says the baby will have health problems and you have an abortion, that is cruel. Why should we decide not to allow a child to be born just because they aren't perfect? If you were raped, God blessed you with a little person that will love you unconditionally. If you think you cannot handle a baby for some reason, give the child to someone who cannot have a baby. For every girl or woman who cannot care for their baby, there is someone out there that wants a child and cannot have one.

well i think it depends. It is possible to get pregnant from rape. I am sure any girl who is raped would not want to carry the guys baby. If the woman is having complications and could die abortion should also be ok. It cant be considered a life until it has breathed its first breath. Life comes after birth not before.

i believe that it's your right! People who have abortions, don't always have planned pregnancies. What if you were raped. I know of someone who was a virgin at the time, who was raped by her bf, who just so happened to have HIV. My heart raced into my throat. What if she's pregnant? She had no clue her bf was HIV+. I say to the ones who are not pro choice. BITE ME! When was the last time you've adopted, or became a big bro or sister to these women's children who are having multiple babies and no one to help them, because they don't or could not afford an abortion!

I am against abortion. My reasons for my being against abortion are:
1. Criminals are innocent until proven guilty. I believe that an unborn child should be considered alive until proven otherwise.
2. No one can prove that an unborn child feels no pain when aborted.
3. You absolutely cannot prove that a viable unborn child is not alive. Quite the contrary. From the moment an egg is fertilized, amazing develpments occur. (see fetal development link in sources)
Although I also don't think it's responsible to make abortion illegal, I still am very much against it. In cases of rape and incest, although it's still not the unborn child's fault, I think it should still be legal for "day after" treatment.
I think a majority of people who get abortions forget that their responsibility started the moment they became sexually active.
That's where your CHOICE is - to protect yourself during sexual activity from unwanted pregnancies.
Use preventive protection, not abortion. Choose to have safe sex.

I'm of the belief that a group of elected "MEN" should not have any say in what a woman does with her body.
It is 100% a womans choice, case closed.
Odd how the bible thumping right wing pro-lifers love the fetus but are the first to rally for capital punishment.... go figure!
