Well, they are just like people in ways. It is almost always a war with having a cat and dog though alot of them do well together. I think it makes a huge difference which one you got first and all. Like if you got the cat first and it had never been around dogs or it didn't have a good experience around one then its more dominate. It is protecting hisself or so it thinks so anyway. I think if the dog doesn't chase the cat and all that in time the cat will accept him and if not become friends then at least be able to live in the same house with out attacking each other. If the cat say was used to being wit you by itsself and maybe sleeping with you and all then along came a puppy ...well the cat is not only scared but, jealous too. Give them both time and affection remember that the cat is probably scared of a active puppy who makes big barking sounds and all too.

well that's kinds hard to answer or to try and give you a good solution, what causes the fighting? if you can find out what is starting it then you can put a stop to it. and if you have both of these pets living in the same house then you should separate them when things get out of hand, because any kind of aggressive interaction is not healthy and the longer you let them do this fighting thing the harder it will be for you to get them to stop and then your only solution would be to get rid of one of them... but think about these few things. how long have you had each of these pets? who was in the house first? could one of them feel jealous of the othre? were they properly introduced even if the small dog is a puppy, they should not be left un supervised with each other, and you should try to figure out the cause asap... that puppy could grow up with some serious issues..... good luck

Are they actually fighting, or is it a case of the cat telling the pup he is boss. You havent said how old the pup is.
If there is no damage being done, just lots of noise, leave them to it. They will sort it out.
The pup is probably driving the cat crazy. Chihuahuas can be very aggressive dogs and be a pain in the rear end. They try and make up for their small stature.
The idea of shutting them in the shower with meat/tuna smeared all over the walls is great. Just make sure the cat is not protective of his food.

i have had a similar experience.... what i did was... if you have slididng doors on the shower... (easiest to clean).. or a kennel... smear both of them with tuna... and put them in there together they will be licking each other in no time... just make sure you leave em alone for a while... they may fight for just a min... but it'll be over soon...

Keep several squirt bottles about your house. When they are being bad in any way, give them a squirt and a firm NO. They should stop fighting!

whenever the cat fights with the dog you should get mad at him and put him in a cat cage. next time when he wants to fight hell think it over if he really wants to get grounded.little by litlle hell learn his lesson.
