I have an egg on my counter and its peeping and wobbling. It made a tiny crack in the shell and it hasn't done much more than that though it has been a few hours (5hrs). How long must I endure this anxious waiting, Is it ok to help it a little? Please hurry.

It's a bantam wyandotte chicken.

HI

NO! Dont help it.. It needs to do this itself.. it will work at it them rest and work then rest and so on...

Try not to move it around alot and keep it safe from rolling off the counter and drafts...

Be sure you put the baby under a light to dry once its out

Its important to allow it to do this on its own.. it is also absorbing its Yoke sac.. that is very important as well.. it will use that in the first couple of days..

I know its awful waiting but it will happen... DONT HELP....

Put it in a safe place and LEAVE the room if you cant stand it...
Youd feel much worse if you helped it and it died.. now wouldnt you?

Good Luck

Enjoy The peeping soon to come!!

what every you do, do not help the chick out of the egg shell, if you help the chick will die. the fight the chick has helps it to pump blood through its body. If you help it the blood will not circulate and it will die.

if you are there when it escaped it will think you are its mother.
