I'm a boy, and im 13 years old.
i really want to know if it is a good idea to dye my hair black.
my mom says it would look funny coz of my eye brows..
but i have brownish/blondish eye brows.

I really wanna do it, like emo hair style, but i said to my mom you would hardly ever see my eye brows anyway...
But should i dye my hair or would it look silly?

My friend, just do it. I have enjoyed dying my hair whatever colour I like, and I was concerned that it could look funny because of my eye brows (my hair colour is black) but I did it anyway. I still do it sometimes, and not so long ago I dyed my hair red.
Dying hair is all about getting hair colour you don't have, so it may look a bit strange at first, but everyone will get use to it soon.
Just do it and enjoy your new hair colour. If you don't like it, then you can dye it back, or wait for your hair to grow, or you can just shave it off, since you are a boy.

You won't look funny because of your eyebrows. I am a natural blonde with "brownish/blondish" eyebrows and when I dyed my hair black it looked fine with my eyebrows. Contrast is okay. It IS possible to dye your eyebrows (been there, done that) but this should only be done by a professional as you can very well blind yourself if you accidentally get the dye in your eyes. The main thing you have to think about is that the dye is PERMANENT. Once you put it on it is there for good. This means every 4 weeks or so you have to touch-up your roots to keep from looking completely ridiculous with black hair and blonde roots. Once you get sick of doing this (and you eventually will) the only way to get rid of the color is to cut the dyed hair off or bleach it out, which is very damaging to your hair. Not only that but if you do decide to attempt to bleach out the black dye your hair will only lighten to a nice pumpkin orange shade. Regaining your natural color will be next to impossible until it just grows out on its own.

So all you aspiring emo and goth kids beware, black hair dye is a commitment, not something to do on a whim, so think it over carefully, and for gods'sake don't drip it on anything in Mom's bathroom because it STAINS everything it touches...including your skin. So be sure to rub pomade or petroleum jelly on your skin along your hairline before you dye your hair...unless you want to walk around with a sign over your head that says "Look! I dyed my hair BLACK last night!" :P

People are usually told (by the hair experts) that coloring hair is best if you just go a shade or two different from your own hair color.

If you're blond, your mother is right. You'll probably look like a blond, fair-skinned, person with "shoe-polish head". (You're a young boy too - you don't want to look silly...).

You may not have any girls you're interested in right now (or you may), but just a note about girls: If you want to be attractive to them the best way to do that is to make the most of what you are naturally (get a good hair-cut, wear clothes that are your style, keep your complexion clean, etc.).

(My nephew tried going from a beautiful, golden, brown, color to what was essentially "yellow" (not the blond he wanted). He looked like he had dipped is head in a can of yellow Sherwin Williams!!)

I got red hair and i dyed mine black a couple of years ago, be prepared to have to dye it at least once a fortnight and when you decide you want to have it all out you will have to shave your head, because the roots show through really badly lol :P Have black low lights instead would look funkier and you have not got the problem with your roots and brows!

do not DO IT! you will remorseful approximately it. once you get the kool-help out, bypass purchase a heat dark blonde or strawberry blonde colour to your hair. Black is tough to paintings with, notably over blonde and you may finally end up with lingering black streaks for a loooonnnng time.

Go for it..
im 14, emo kid..I have dark brown hair and dyed it black so it wasn't that much of a change..its never been the same since, it stayed black for about a month and started changing colour, changed to red/orange in the light..by the way, you might wanna straighten your hair aswell..that looks cool. but yeah..in the light now it goes purple..god knows what chemicals are in my hair. Roots are so cool..I want to bleach mine in a few weeks from brown/black and get brown roots..lush! Just go for it

people who love bright hair colours would love your hair and attitude, but black? think about these:

I know someone who tried this and went GREEN.. unintentionally. If you don't know what base colours make up your dye, you can have wild and unexpected results.

all of your features say 'blond' no matter how dark you think your eyebrows are.

once you start dying your hair, your hair starts dying,. literally. Chemicals kill it,

Dark hair fades to ginger eventually - black and red are the most unstable hair colours you can get

wait a few years and stick with coloured mousse til then, and yes, it comes in black, but washes out after a few shampoos and its kinder!

You can be black one week and bright red another week... Mousse sounds like a better solution to me

Hi, If you think it will suit you, go for it!
It seems like a big but nice change. Don't listen to anyone telling you it will look silly. You won't know until you try it. Even if it doesen't suit you, you can dye it back to your natural hair colour.
Well i hope it does suit you and Good Luck!

Just get the tips tinted perhaps with a "wash out" hair color(usually washes out in 20 hair washings). Please make sure you have a professional do this. Perhaps try getting a darker color then maybe fading it to black. I don't however think black hair would look good if you hair is kinda blondish(imho). Good luck.

Hey I've been dying my hair for years. I have naturally very dark brown hair but have bleached it light blond and my eyebrows are dark. Hey nothing ventured nothing gained. If you don't like it just shave it off it will grow back, just don't try and bleach it out. Try some other colours while you are young but only with mums permission.
