Consciousness is your personality, your soul. It's what makes you, you! The one reason I can't beleive the scientific ways is that how I'm such a defined person and how I just go poof! And disappear. I'm gone forever. Life just goes on. That's why I'm a christian. I beleive that I have a life outside this messed up world. I hope you learned something...

(Christ rocks. Forget you bashers.)

Part of our consciousness is defined by our environment. Our unconscious mind is also influenced by our environment. We choose to allow certain things into our mind and overtime those things come to bear fruit. How we define ourselves is our choice. We have free will and can react to a number of ways to things around us.
Our other part of conciousness is formed by what I believe to be our spirit. If our spirits are good we are inclined to do good things and vice versa.
I define myself by doing good things in life because it makes my life more meaningful.
Peace...

I am me. I define myself as the collection all parts which actively and collectively enable me to think and to react to everything else. It is all of that which causes me pain when it is hurt and pleasure when it is empowered.
