Two weeks ago I started to have a pain in my left eye, and as days pass the pain became more severe. I felt like I had something in my eye, and it bothered me a lot. Then I notice a strange growth on the corner of the eye. It itches a lot, but the eye is not red or pink.

Pink eye, or conjunctivitis, turns your reddens your eye and you will notice goop in your eye corners especially when you wake up so I don't think it is that. Sounds like it could be a stye, extremely painful but not serious, it would be a little growth somewhere around your eye, the best thing to do is put warm wash clothes on it, and check with your doctor.

Pink eye makes your eye feel like you've got sand in it. It's red, swollen, itching, sensitive to light, and during the night it drains a lot and your eye gets stuck closed. You have to use warm moist towels on it to clean the goop of your eye lashes and lid. It's very uncomfortable. So if you have any of these symptoms it's very possible you may have pink eye. You don't normally have growths on your eye. Just dry drainage that looks kinda' yellow when it's dry. You should really contact your family physician or an ophthalmologist.

By the way, I'm a nurse.

Pink eye, or Conjunctivitis, does not have a growth (meaning abnormal tissue growth) associated with it. The pain should be more irritative in nature and not so severe. You should see a physician ASAP. See the wikipedia article for more detail. Conjunctivitis should self resolve. If it is getting worse by the day, leave the house and get it looked at. Even if this means going to the ER, you want a qualified health professional's opinion.

A classic sign of pink eye is a red weeping eye that is usually swollen or puffy. Definately doesn't sound like conjunctivitis. Go get it checked out, the eyes are not something to fool around with..especially for 2 weeks..

Most likely not a pink eye, pink eye can be spread through human contact. Best is to check with your doctor and get much needed rest. It is probably a temporary infection just clean your eye. It does not sound too serious.

Sounds more like a sty. The main sign of pink eye is that your eye will be stuck shut in the morning with lots of goo. It will also be VERY red and itch a lot.

growth in your eye, not pink eye. Get it checked out immediatly. i had an eye infection in college and sat on it. When I couldn't take it any longer, my rm mate made me get it checked out. Had a waited another 24hrs I would have been blind in that eye. as it is that eye is now weaker than it was and there is some scarring. Get it checked out NOW!!!

that doesn't sound like pink eye. pink eye consists of SEVERE itch, extreme redness, swelling and discharge. it may be a bad sty, but you should go to the doc; could be something serious and you don't wanna put your vision in jeopardy

sounds more like a sty .. pink eye leaves a film over your eye and tons of goop coming out of it.. it is highly contagious and usually goes from one eye to the other .. and rubbing passes the infection back and forth. warm compresses help relieve.
