Can a male teenager or young adult be successful babysitters? I understand that the majority of babysitters are female, but I believe a child could also benefit from a positive male role model to guide them along.

Sure they can, especially ones who are a little light in their loafers if you catch my drift. Varsity football players generally need not apply.

Of course they can. Male babysitters are met with a lot of stigma though as it is seen as a female's job to look after the children, not to mention the fact that a large majority of pedophiles are male.

But I essentially worked as a male nanny for a while when I was bringing up my daughter. I looked after my friends' kids as a sort of daycare thing to help pay for my training in my current job. Although I don't do it a lot anymore, my daughters playmates are always wanting to come over because they know that I work as a chocolatier.

Essentially they are Charlie, and my house happens to be the chocolate factory, as far as they concerned. I'm surprised they haven't started calling me "Mr Wonka" yet. I'm sure I'll get enough of it when they get older though.

Either way, a positive male role model is a very good thing to consider, especially if the child itself is male.

Yes! I had a male babysitter when I was a kid and I turned out just fine. He never did anything inappropriate or weird. I had a young man from our youth group babysit my girls one time and they had a blast. I completely trust him and my girls love him. He joined the Army a few months ago and we miss him terribly.
My point is, there are plenty of upstanding, wonderful role model young men out there. The trick is to look past the norm and learn to trust.
I especially think it would be a positive thing for little boys to have a male babysitter as they would see that men CAN have a nurturing side.

I think that a male can probably be a good babysitter. But seriously, most people would much rather have a female babysitter. Some may be worried about the child being molested. Not that a female babysitter isn't capable of such harm. Others may feel that since women are nurturers they will be better at babysitting.

Yes, My friend with 2 boys uses their male teenage babysitter as a reward when the boys behave. The parents and kids both adore him.

Of course, we always had male and female babysitters. The guys were so much fun they would play things that girls wouldn't... like I remember one time was one of the best times ever, and our guy babysitter turned the couch upside down and helped us build a fort out of it. He knew our parents wouldnt be mad and we had a BLAST

Sure they can. In fact for small boys they are sometimes the best babysitters cause they know what little guys like to play.

Yes they can .And your right children also need more male role models in their life and not every male is a paedophile. You just need to build up trust with the children's parents and let then video tape you if need be for there own piece of mind.

I have a friend that made a great babysitter. Just be sure that you really trust the person and know them very well.

Yes, but I would sort of wonder what kind of teenage boy would WANT to. Most incidents of babysitter-related abuse are by MALE sitters.

try the Conspiracy 365 sequence. there is twelve books, one for each month. So the first e book is Conspiracy 365 January and the perfect is Conspiracy 365 December, get the pick the flow? besides, it tells the tale from 15 year old Callum Ormond's attitude, as he's accused for something he did not do. He might want to live on as a fugitive on the run. an fairly desirable sequence. I advise you try it.
