There this guy that im trying to get something together so we can hookup. I like him (but he dosent know), and the other day, In the mists of trying to put this together, he said I seem desperate!
I would think that a guy would like a girl who wanted him really bad, but what gives?! Its not like im stalking him or anything, Im trying to be as casual as possible

desperation misleads sometimes girl, but if ya take it slow n low for a while ... then certainly u'll get ur man. fact is we boys do like when a girl wants and needs us very badly ... but also don't want to rush in like fools. hope ya can read between the lines ... u're not stalking tom or anything but if he doesn't know about your feelings as u like him, then u should first talk and then take the next step.

My boyfriend said that it is the thrill of the chase. Men are natural hunters. They are natural competitors and like to hunt their prey and display it like a trophy.
If it was ez to get they feel other men can get it that ez just like they did when u were acting desperate.
That doesn't mean they want u act like u don't care but just ez up some.
My bf tried dating me in 2001, i turned him down. Everyday walking home I would see him and he would speak 'Hey Ms.Lady, how u doing?'
Now in the mean time there were girls throwing themselves at him, playing the desperate role like u did. But all the while he turned them down and still persured me, his 'Ms.Lady'. 4 yrs later in 2005 he tried again. He stopped me as I was walking home and this time he wasnt making small talk he came out and siad u know I am interested in.........
Moral of the story, the desperate girls were overlooked. He wanted the chase and the thrill, he told me all the time 'I told my boys I was gonna getcha!They didn't belive me, I told them!'
Men like to have something they belive no one else can so just ease up a little, take him down from the pedalstal u put him on and treat him as if he were just a friend. He'll come around someday, and when he does that when u show him how much u like him, but only when he shows some intrest in u first

Think about it. Would you really like a desperate guy going for you? I think desperate guys range from irritating to scary.
The thing is, you can't look for a guy to complete you, you have to be complete individuals first. And if you're trying too hard (such a turn-off), it looks like you need someone to complete you. No one wants someone who's needy all the time.

Trust me I get hit on all the time and Im in a long term realationship! And no im not drop dead gorges or a modle , I am average , but the blokes that hit on me ! GOD DAM! Their so fine! its cause they know they cant have me so they try harder.
you must give off a vibe of wanting him real bad, just start telling every one else your over him and infactuated with someone new.... he will want you then!

It may be because if you're "desperate", you're looking for commitment and commitment is scary for lots of people...The male gender in particular. If you appear to be "desperate", then you're just advertising that you want to be taken care of. That's a pretty big order in this day and age. Men, in general, prefer women who are self sufficient.

In a general sense...prob has something to do with man's macho *** primal need to hunt. And desperate may appear slutty to some, but either way the guy was a complete as*hole for saying that to you. Move on...

guys don't want a girl who is desperate cuz that usually means they are super needy, and will ~need~ to be with the guy 24/7 and will cling to him like a magnet. guys like girls who do their own thing, yet show that little spark of interest
