Love is a series of neural signals indicating pleasure and enfatuation. It is nature's way to strongly encourage you to procreate and care for the offspring.

That's the meaning of love.

As sentient human beings, we distort this and try to match it with our ego trips and dreams -- and the result is usually excruciating pain.

"Love brings such misery and pain!
I guess I'll never feel the same!..."

Lenny Welch sang that in 1963 -- the slowest, saddest song ever to reach #1.

It's different for everyone. My true meaning of love is total unconditional love. I don't believe it exists between human beings. People always put conditions on love. The only true meaning of love is between an animal and a human being.

love is a word we have given to a phenomena that we don't exactly understand. it's not quite out there with crop circles, but it's around the same gray area as say... atomic structure. We call it like we see it.
Love is different for everybody but it's also the same. I wont bore you with unnecessary (ditsy) philosophy, but love was handed down from whatever creator you believe in, to keep us tamed animals in line. The butterflies we get, the anticipation of contact, the longing for attention, the wanting to share, the putting up with it all, the crazy crap you deal out, the sorrowful hole in your chest, sharing your snacks, and knowing you need to do it all again; that's love. love is a feeling that you know your body needs, it's all the feelings, it's hope, sorrow, and appreciation. It's the root of humanity, and the reason we do things. Love can be selfish, or complicated, undeniable, or learned. It is emotion and serenity; unless your married, and then it's a trap! run away (just kidding)
