I also love my friends, but I don't pray to them (obviously!)
But in the spirit of your question (as I understand it), without analysing words, too much, I have a Friend in Jesus Christ, Who loves me beyond what words can describe, and would like to see me become worthy of His love (although He loves unconditionally, like parents, older siblings and teachers sometimes do), and would like to help me on this, if I only let Him!

Christ said, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you."
So I guess if you lay down your life for Christ according to His commands to you, you will have a friend in Jesus.
By the way, you will know that He laid down His life for His enemies?
