I find the worst part is late at night, you should be heading off to bed, but instead you spend about 10 minutes grazing the fridge and cupboards eating rediculous amounts of uneeded calories until you finally drag your butt away saying enough is enough. I don't care how crazy or ordinary the suggestions, just please give me anything that will help move past the fridge. A big problem I have is, I eat healthy food. I think the worst thing I've put in my mouth this week was some crackers with jam. Often I just think, well it's healthy food, so it's no biggy. I definitly overeat at night time though. Okay, well I've made my confession, now please help! Thanks!

Contrary to popular beliefs eating at night will not make you a beast. You may not speep as well but it no big horrible thing. Eat when you are hungry, but not when you are full. The problem is people eat beyond full. It has worked for all of humanity. Eat when you feel you need to eat. Stop when feel better but not bloated. The 8 glasses of water is a myth also. Drink when you are thirsty and then drink a little more. No trick to this. Keep up the good work. and ignore most other advice.

Well what I've done (and I actually did this earlier tonight..AND IT WORRRKED!) is I drink a glass of water and wait 15-20 minutes. The water makes you feel kinda full, and its really good for you anyway! And, if after 20 minutes or so I'm still reaally craving it, I eat something else (not the food I'm craving) thats healthy. Sure, that first 10 or 15 minutes is a little hard..but I just stay away from the kitchen and try to think of other things. Get my mind off of the craving, ya know? This works for me every time..

This might sound stupid, but I always wear a rubber band or a hairband around my arm at night and whenever I feel like eating, I'll pull it back and snap myself to remind me that I don't need to eat. I am in the same boat as you; I eat healthily, but way too much. Another suggestion is to go away to another room and do something to get your mind off of food, or even go outside. Listen to music, call a friend, think about the next day...or, even better, do some jumping jacks or push-ups or something!

I know the feeling, I suffer from the same cravings. The only thing that has worked for me, is to force my way past the fridge. and going straight to bed. And put my self to sleep by praying untill I fall to sleep.
I hope this is a help

You sound like me! What I usually do when its a late nite and i have a craving for something good, I just turn on some music on the headphones, or watch some tv....try writting something in a journal or diary....talk on the phone, read a book...what are your hobbies? or, probably one of the best things to do, is have a couple water bottles in your room, and whenever you feel hungary in the middle of the night, start drinking the water, it will fill you up...not to mention, its the best thing for your skin and apperance...so its like hitting two birds with one stone... hope this helps! the water trick really does it for me! :)

if you are eating healthy foods all the time and you are not gaining weight and your cholesterol level is fine and you are in good health then it doesn't really matter if you eat all the time. i eat all the time not healthy foods and i still maintain my weight (130) if it is a major problem to you then speak to a nutritionist. in the mean time you can have lots of fruits and water half hour before you go to bed then maybe you won't feel the need to snack as much.

Brush your teeth right after dinner. My dental routine includes flossing, power brushing, and mouth rinse, so I don't want to eat after that and have to do it all again.
