Would a salon bleach my hair for free or have to pay a little or a lot?before I could highlight it red?What exactly is bleaching and why is it nececcary?

To answer your first question.
Yes, a salon will bleach your hair. They may not use a real bleach, such as the kind you can buy out of a box. They have new dyes that actually work the same as bleach, but with less harmful effects. Such as: - Split ends, Burning sensation, ect.
#2- The salon will not do anything for free. Even if you bring your own dye, they WILL do anything to have you spend more money.. Convincing you to use their product instead. You may be able to still use your oun product that you bought, thinking it will be cheaper. But they still charge for their services. And it is a better deal to use their product.
It is not that expensive for only a bleach, maybe around 10-20 dollars tops. It really depends on where you decide to go.
I dont know what you mean by the 'before I could highlight it red' part of your question... But highlighting costs more than a plain bleach.
Bleaching is not neccasary. And is done by a persons choice..
If you have very dark hair and wanted red highlights, they may ask you if you would like to bleach it first..But it depends on if you want to keep you natural color and just add red. Bleaching isa chemical that changes the color in your hair to a very light shade. Usually a bright blonde. Or if you have very dark hair, a creamy nutral brown-blonde.

Ok first of no Hairdresser is going to do it for free.... also the only reason you should be lighting your hair(bleaching) to go red , is only depends on how red you want to go.... If you want it bright, then bleach it first but if you don't want it to red... there is no need to bleach... regardless go get it done somewhere , and make sure you explain yourself.. so they don't mess up...... I know i do this for a living... good luck

bleaching someones hair is a delicate process because if done wrong it can ruin the hair so you have to pay.

what you are looking for is a double process color...it is usually expensive cause they first have to lighten your hair, then put a color filler on the lightened pieces then put the red in...otherwise...if you put red on lightened hair, it will turn pink eventually (as it fades) Salons do nothing for free

If you have dark hair and want to go to a lighter color the belch will take the color out. The cost will depend on where you go.
