God called me and placed a desire in my heart to serve Him all the days of my life. I listened to that call, did what he told me to do, walked though the open doors he provided and God has led me for the past 40 years into ministry. Today I am a minister, a pastors wife, a writer, and a sinner saved by grace. I have no regrets. It has been a wonderful life filled with satisfaction, joy, trust, faith, and fulfillment. There has been challenges, but he has helped me meet every one head on. God is a good boss....and the rewards are out of this world!

Some have said ask your pastor... no... God loves you enough to speak to you before he tells your pastor. God will help you to grow and develop day by day, even if you do not have all the ideal qualities in your personality now. He will make you just what He wants you to be.
Ministry is more than just being a pastor or evangelist or missionary. It is daily serving God wherever you are. Start right now to serve Him.... and you will show others your love for God by your actions. You will make mistakes, but you will learn from each one. Stay humble, and keep your eyes on the Lord.

Kate,
The Joke Answer:
There was this guy. And God wanted him to do something. I think that it was to preach to a bunch of people that he thought would kill him if he did what God said to. So he ran from it and a fish or whale or something swallowed him whole. Three days of smelling fishbreath he was evacuated from the fish or whatever. I don't know which end.

Anyways, he finally gave up to God and preached even though he wasn't happy about it. And things worked out fine after a lesson with a plant. The End.

The Other Answer:
That is such a good question! God lets you know. I think tht it's from the heart. But you can't faulter! And don't think that it's going to be your life, because that's not necessarily the truth! God gets you ready for other things, especially if it's your first thing. So be patient, and stay in the Bible. You will feel His Spirit move you to do things. That's the way it worked for me.

Think long and hard to figure out your true "calling."

Many people who begin to grow in the direction of atheism have accompanying feelings of guilt or failure that lead them to throw themselves deeply into religious practice. It might amaze you to find out how many priests & ministers & others in religious life are actually atheists, or are trying to compensate for what they see as shortcomings in their moral fiber.

Meditate on whether you really believe and why you feel a pull to that life. Explore your doubts fully. If you do and still feel the calling, go for it. If you don't feel it then, put it behind you and seek out whatever will give you true happiness. An unexamined calling is often a false calling.

Since you are asking this question, the answer is: You are not being called.

That would be between you and God. He tells us what we should do if you listen to him closely. No one can tell you what the Lord want you to do just him. This is something many people have prayed about for sometime before they surrendered into the ministry.

If you are a Christian... you ARE called to the ministry... it's in scripture. 2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

You have a hunger that you can't explain.
if you have a pastor that is in tune with God he can help, but not all ministers are, I had several tell me that I wasn't called, but I had more tell me that i was.
I guess you just have to want to let people know that God loves them.
It is not for us to condemn but we are to encourage, exhort, and lift up our fellow believers.

Keep it mostly to yourself, and go visit meetings where there are Prophets of GOD. (male or female).
GOD will let you know through them.
You keep it to yourself, so the devil has a harder time playing ping-pong with your Thoughts, trying to Decieve you and mess you up in these Things.
