Because intolerance of Christianity seems to be one of the few "acceptable" forms of bigotry left; unfortunate.

Being blind to the faith is what makes a religious look like robot and when you tend to disagree you become a rebel and labeled a sinner. It is not only true with Christians, other religions as well. You are not the only one who experienced that.
You are labeled by outsiders if you follow your religion like the rest of your friends. If you make it too hardlined, even your own congregation sometimes labels you. If you rebel or do something unusual which does not conform to the teachings of your sect then you are in trouble.
But if you think you are doing what you believe is right, you only have nothing to worry about. If they say you are acting like a robot, the question is are you really? why will you mind what others will say when you think you're doing it because you are happy to do it.

I think it's just another way for unbelievers to put an aren't-these-people-stupid spin on our faith. Either that, or they can't accept the fact that there's Christianity, but there are SO many varying groups (something we've done to ourselves and something that will never be changed) that not all Christians believe the same thing. The easy course for them is to lump us all together, because that way, they don't have to take the time to find out what individuals think, they can just label all Christians the same way.

EDITED: I just committed my own pet peeve. It's a way for many (not all) unbelievers to lump us together.

I only see Christians as robots when instead of answering a question they just recite Bible verses. To me, that's just saying something someone else said instead of coming up with their own answer. And when Christians don't agree, what else are they going to be accused of? Of course they'll be accused of not agreeing.

People are confused and want control of what believers say because they are afraid of truth and fear that believers are correct. It is a terrible demonic game of trying to divide and spew judgment. Hopefully, believers don't fall for the bait or trap.

Not all Christians are brainwashed robots. There are several here that make sense when they express an opinion. Just because I disagree does not make all of you ignorant.

I know it's not always easy but some on both sides really need to try and avoid generalizations.

I've seen it too. People just want to use any excuse to hate us.

I have seen it, and its root cause is intolerance boosted by a heafty dose of ignorance.

Because your Holy Book says that you all are to be united as one. When you have over 30,000 sects, that hardly is unity!
