I have a few tablets of hydrocodone that I've saved since 3 years ago and they still work. Most medicines will not go bad as easily as you think - exceptions include aspirin and antibiotics. And no expired medication can HARM you, they just don't work as well when they really do go "bad."

They probably won't kill you but it's not a good idea to use strong pain meds unless a doc checks you out first and gives them to you for that particular injury. Pain is the body's way of letting us know something is wrong. If you mask the pain with meds if there is a problem it may get worse.

no don't save them for something that might not happen for years. the pills have a shelf life just like milk ,they can go bad and do real harm if taken after the expiration date.

They won't kill you they just may not be as effective. I think that the potency may vary depending on the manufacturer. Many medications are still OK to take long after the expiration date.

Medication supposedly expires, but I have used it past the date. It just wasn't as strong. If it gets a funny smell, don't use it.

They may have lost there effectiveness so don't take more than needed. They'll be okay one year past its expiration date. Hope you feel better soon. Take care
