How long do you have to beat the meat to make it soft and tender? And do you have to rub it down with anything?

It depends on how stiff your meat is. You need to rub it down with lots of oil to keep it nice & moist, then you need to beat your meat. Just beat it till it looks soft, and feels soft. Sounds tasty. Then cook your meat.

I usually tenderize the meats with a grilling salt or a steak rub, depending on what kind of steak you are cooking. I've used those tenderizers & i really don't think they help all that much other than a good workout. No Pun intended.

I have never beat the meat - I get meat tenderizer at the grocery store and you sprinkle it on and rub it in (directions on the bottle)

You can find it in the spice section of the grocery store

There will be someone out there who says that meat tenderizer is not good for you, been eating it all my life and it hasn't hurt me a bit

You only have to beat it for a minute or so on each side, you just want to break down the tissues. Marinading meat will also tenderize it.

i take hours but im old and stiff,, no seriously rub the meat according to taste and beat it till the flesh is double in size then it shrinks back down when your done cooking it by your favorite metheod an olde chf
