If I tell you I am a Wiccan and you reply with "I'll pray for you", what exactly are you praying for? Why do it at all if I didn't ask you to? And do you really think your prayer will be answered the way you want it to? Do you actually pray for me or do you just say you're going to? I'm being serious here, and not trying to offend anyone, so don't take it the wrong way. Just answer the questions.

Saying, "I'll pray for you", is a knee-jerk response by many people to anything they don't understand or is beyond the scope of their particular religious dogma.

Prayer has been proven in a clinical setting to work for hospitalized people. But so has voodoo. When someone believes strongly enough that something will affect them, it can in fact. That's what hypnosis is about - or being given a placebo in place of an actual medication.

There is no question that if we all allowed one another to worship as we all see fit that the world would be a more peaceful place. Alas, there will always be people who think that how they travel towards a destination is the only way to go and worse, try to force their path onto others. They refuse to see that we all have the same goal.

Peace.

So mote it be.

Being Wiccan should answer your question, as you appreciate that joined psychic forces are more powerful that a single one. The idea of a coven, or for that matter the disciples of Christ, and few ministers today work by themselves. Think of the psychic energy of Oral Roberts, with millions of views, he was able to focus tremendous energy. The realm of ESP, telekinesis, etc. fall under this same light. Few people have the psychic energy to do these things or more likely, they have sufficient doubt about their own strength. Many cures have been made possible by such concentrated force.

I'm not Christian either, but when someone says they will pray for me and mean it in a nice way, as if to help me get through a rough time, then I thank them..energy is energy and if it is positive then it will bring positive, it doesn't matter who they are praying to.

I will pray for anyone with a rational & real request, *irregardless of their faith or lack thereof. Pagan or wiccan, I don't care. The LORD I serve answers the prayers of His saints.

* I know that's not a real word but I like it. ;-)

I mean it.But just because you are Wiccan I would not pray for you. That is your belief and I respect that. Now if you had an accident or something like that I'd pray for you to heal or be at peace.

They are referring to "they will pray for you to get into Heaven because you are a misinformed individual who has a good chance of going to h^ll for partaking in the so called evils of witchcraft"

I don't believe that way though! So, dont give me a thumbs down for saying that. LOL. I too have studied Wicca... but found it to be "not for me". Which is fine. Most the people that talk crap about Wicca dont even know a dang thing about it. They think its all Satan worship - which it isnt at all.

But theres your answer.

That is really cool that you are Wiccan. I am not religious so I never say I will pray for anyone..If I am giving them any good thoughts..I simply say..I am thinking of you.

No prayers here just positive energy coming at ya......

Christians pray 'cause their guilt compels them to. They don't think the prayer will be answered just listened to and if they are praying for you they only pray in hopes that you will leave your evil misguided ways.

"Ooh the mortal fools"

my once christian interpretation of that is to send good will and energy their way and asking something other than themselves to aid in this while asking.

i personally think this should be a combining of your good will and energy with the flow of everythings energy and projecting that at them in aid of whatever youre 'praying' for.

I think it's a threat--like in sister act when the pilot refuses to take them to las vegas and they follow him around praying "If his craft should crash into the ocean do not forsake him in his hour of need even though he has forsaken us........"
