Almost any drug has side effects. Side effects are usually worst when you start taking the drug. After a few weeks the side effects usually lessen greatly or even go away.

I've been on 50mg Zoloft since August and the first few weeks I had some side effects, but they've gone away and I'm really feeling so much better. My moods have improved and so has my energy. It's really helping me get my life in order and I think it was totally worth the couple weeks of upset stomach that I had at the beginning.

Every person is going to react to a medication differently. You won't know for sure how you'll react until you take it.

Good luck.

I haven't. I was on Zoloft for awhile and it made me sick. I was put on Prozac. It didn't help either. I am now taking seroquel, and lexapro and other crazy meds. They make me feel good. At least I'm able to function now. My mind isn't so screwed up as before. It is still messed up enough where I will have to go back into a psychiatric hospital. I can't stand being alone for the holidays; if that makes any sense to you.

In 2005, Zoloft was the top-selling antidepressant in the U.S., with more than $3 million in U.S. sales, so it seems widely prescribed. I suppose it depends if the doctor prescribing it is good in diagnosing someones health correctly or is some quack. You could end up being treated for the wrong thing.
